Job vs success
by Philippe Moisan Video Champions, APSense Mentor"A job means doing something you don't like, feeling you have no choice"
"Success means doing something you don't like, knowing it is the right choice"
Yes, I invented it, copyright 2011 Philippe Moisan. LOL
I don't mind that you use it, rewrite it, modify it, adapt it, or suggest better ways to write it.
In fact, to be complete, the quote should mention that of course, there are things we do like, in jobs and other activities. But I felt the impact is better the way I wrote it, and also, it's long enough as it is. :)
I won't give examples of things we don't like doing when we have a job. It's different from person to person.
As for success, here I mean business success. Let me give you a short list of things we may not like to do, but then again, it's different from one person to another. The list is in no particular order:
- writing
- creating videos
- sending a link AFTER we have checked it's ok with the person
- managing time
- managing money
- writing a business plan
- liking FanPages we find in a list on Facebook
- writing something else than "good article" as a comment
- creating a website or blog
- learning web tech stuff
- paying for advertising

Writer/ Web Host/Internet MarketerThat is great list you have here. Even though some of those things may be tedious or time consuming it is well worth the effort when we do them. I especially like that you put emphasis on asking someone before you send them a link. Not doing that is one of quickest ways to be labeled a spammer. When running an online business many people we meet never get to meet us offline and all they have to go on is our online reputation. I can also appreciate another point you touched on in your list, not writing "good article" on someones post. I know many do that because they don't know any better but it doesn't offer any quality to the post or comments section. It doesn't show the author that you took anything from their post, what you liked or didn't like. Aug 14th 2011 21:44 |

Video Champions, APSense MentorWow, Alice, about the "good article" point, you certainly not only said you agree with me, but you demonstrated awesomely what quality comments are about. I top your comment this second :) Aug 14th 2011 22:21 |

business consultantA well founded and thought out article Philippe, however the title and your quote belies that many people can and do achieve success and enjoyment within their Job or career, It all comes down to the individual view of what success is to them. Aug 16th 2011 08:31 |

Video Champions, APSense MentorSean, thanks for feedback and like. I believe the quote can't really be used by itself, cause I definitely believe anything we do is a mix of things we enjoy doing and some we don't. But the quote would need to be rewritten. If you are inspired to suggest a new version, I'm open to it, I'm way too busy with some other stuff right now :) Aug 16th 2011 08:41 |

Good article philippe! Its the better way you wrote it.
