Solutions to Fix an Unresponsive QuickBooks
Use Recommended operating systems and internet speeds
For Windows PC
- You will need at least Windows 10.
- Your computer should have an Intel Core i5 or a similar processor (from 2015 or later).
- Make sure your computer has a minimum of 4 GB of RAM.
- Remember, you will need Adobe Reader 11.0 or a newer version to print forms.
For Mac
- Your computer's operating system should be at least "Big Sur" 11.1 or a more recent version.

For Windows PC
- Operating system: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i3 or a similar processor (from 2013 or later)
- RAM: At least 2 GB
For Mac
- Operating system: OS X El Capitan 10.11 or a newer version
- Internet speed: A minimum of 1.5 Mbps
Here is how to make QuickBooks Online work better
- Are you using Google Chrome? We think Chrome works best for QuickBooks Online. If you are already using Chrome, make sure it is the newest version. You can do that by going to the Chrome menu, then picking Help, and finally About Google Chrome.
- Check that your computer's operating system is up-to-date and that it is at least as good as what QuickBooks Online needs.
- See if your internet speed is stopping QuickBooks Online from working well. You can run a Google Speed Test to find out how fast your connection is. To understand the test results better, make sure to read how the results are figured out and what they mean.
