Is Duquesa Truly The New Puerto Banus - Simply Shuttles

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

If you were to casually mention ‘Duquesa’ to relatively inexperienced visitors to Spain, there is a good chance that it would not seem familiar to them – even though they may have effectively driven past a settlement by this name on numerous occasions.

So, here at Simply Shuttles, we thought we would shine a much-deserved spotlight on, to give its full name, Puerto de la Duquesa.

How would one describe Duquesa right now?

There is no doubt that La Duquesa hardly enjoys the kind of high profile among holidaymakers from overseas that the likes of Estepona – 12 kilometres to the east – or the also close-by city of Malaga do. And sure enough, the locality could perhaps be described as a ‘suburb’ of the Manilva municipality, rather than necessarily a magnetic destination in its own right.

Or at least, that was how one could have described Duquesa, until recently. In truth, suggestions that La Duquesa could yet be the ‘new Puerto Banus’ are beginning to look less and less pretentious, as more and more desirable properties spring up in the area, corresponding with the development of prestigious leisure amenities.

Today, one might conceivably head to Duquesa in order to immerse themselves in the bustling nightlife atmosphere of the marina with its high-end restaurants and bars, or to tee off at the La Duquesa Golf and Country Club, which benefitted from the expertise of the celebrated American golf architect, Robert Trent Jones. It’s no wonder that a thriving expatriate community has already emerged in this part of the Costa del Sol.

We’ll make it easy for you to experience La Duquesa for yourself

Now far from the backwater that it may have once been mistaken as being, Duquesa is becoming a seriously alluring destination in and of itself, for both casual visitors and those considering living and working here.

It certainly helps that this ever-more burgeoning development is so conveniently located, being a mere 30-minute drive from the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, and even just 75 minutes away from Malaga. Speaking of which, we can provide the private hire services to maximise your convenience during your time in Andalucia, regardless of the exact reasons for your visit. Ask our team at Simply Shuttles today about our Malaga Airport transfers to Duquesa, and you, too, will soon realise what the hype is all about in relation to this exclusive, yet also still surprisingly accessible residential and lifestyle hotspot on the Costa del Sol.
