by BluTech Lenses Blue Light Filter Glasses

There are two sides to every coin – and this is the case with the digital world as well. While on the one hand, technological devices provide you with many benefits for work and entertainment. On the other hand, they affect user-health. But how?

Devices like computers, smartphones, or even LED lights at your home emit dangerous blue light. When you spend a long time staring at digital screens, you are overexposed to harmful blue rays, which can damage your health and lifestyle. So, if you have any exposure to this light, especially before going to bed, you need to understand just how dangerous it can be.

What are the effects of blue light?

Blue light is a high energy visible light that can have a significant effect on your ability to fall asleep. These rays can also reduce your REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is essential for a sound, restful sleep. This is a common problem for adults who work late at night on digital screens.

Blue rays have always been linked to disrupting sleep patterns and can affect your circadian rhythm, also known as the sleep-wake cycle, which is regulated by melatonin levels. As nighttime approaches, the melatonin production starts to increase in your body. It helps you sleep by increasing about two-to-three hours before your bedtime. But, blue light reduces the production of this hormone, which can swing your ability to fall asleep. So, you need to avoid this blue light to sleep at least three hours before going to bed.

Besides having trouble sleeping, over-exposure to blue light can result in depression and various cardiovascular conditions. More common long-terms effects may include digital eye strain, migraine, and severe neck and shoulder pain. So, you need to limit your blue-light exposure as soon as possible before an acute illness or condition unfolds.

Do blue light blockers work?

Wearing blue light blocking lenses is one of the best ways to reduce the amount of blue light emitted from digital screens. These lenses are recommended for those who work on digital screens in the dark – usually after 6 p.m.

Besides buying a pair of blue blockers, you can take several measures to protect yourself against the adverse effects of blue rays before going to bed. Let’s take a look at what that you can do:

  • Power down the screens at least two to three hours before bedtime
  • Use blue light filter apps into your system
  • Use dim red lights in your bathroom or bedroom as red light has the least effect on melatonin and circadian rhythms
  • Expose yourself to plenty of daylight for improved night sleep and enhanced mood and attention

There is no doubt that blue light is injurious to your health. Fortunately, getting relief from the adverse effects of blue rays is easy with the preventative measures mentioned above – and especially the blue light filter glasses. They can give you fast and effective results. So, what are you waiting for? Just buy a pair of blue light blockers and keep yourself safe from the adverse effects of blue light.
