IRCTC Revamps Next Gen E-Ticketing Website – What’s New for Passengers?

Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has revamped its e-ticketing portal for the convenience of Indian Railways passengers. New features of IRCTC next generation are now available to passengers to make every stage easier.

Check Trains first, Login later

Earlier, you had to log-in first in the user interface. On the other side, this new IRCTC next generation login portal allows you to first check availability of seats and trains before signing in. You can even change the font size according to your convenience in the website.

 

Filters

You can better plan your journey as IRCTC has added various filters according to class, train arrival and departure time, type of train, and quota. In addition, it has innovative layout for changing journey details, looking up for availability of seats in other dates, fare break up and even more by Indian Railways and IRCTC.  

 

Waitlist Prediction

The organization has also added an innovative feature “Waitlist prediction”. It would come handy for a lot of passengers who have to book tickets on short notice or during holiday season when getting confirmed ticket seems to be a jackpot in Indian trains. This innovative feature will be of great help for passengers. They can now predict whether their RAC or waitlist could be cleared and ticket would be confirmed with this feature. It predicts the availability on the basis of past booking trends.

 

The Vikalp Scheme

This scheme was rolled out by Indian Railways to offer alternate trains to passengers. This special feature brings another great convenience. Now passengers can choose alternative accommodation in case waiting tickets has not been confirmed. They can get other train with specials.

 

Separate Cards

Indian Railways will also provide a separate card for each passenger. Users fill details in this card as per their needs. It provides quick booking with prefilled particulars.

 

More Payment Options

Users can go to My Profile section and mark up to 6 banks as “Preferred Banks” out of several payment options. After making payments, the website will display the booking particulars in a user-friendly way, according to Indian Railways.

 

My Transactions

It is yet another amazing feature which displays booked tickets to the users according to several parameters, including journey date, date of booking, completed journey, and upcoming journey.

 

Thanks to this revamp, users can perform several activities with their booking history, including, request for SMS, ticket cancellation, printing, choosing alternative train with “Vikalp Scheme” and changing station of boarding, when needed. In all pages of new website, you will get help links.
