Introduction? Why Introduce Myself?

by Malok Mading Writer and Blogger.

Apsense is a unique business social network helping individuals build their reputations, personal brand and grow businesses.
I want to touch something about importance of introducing yourself here first the moment you create your account at Apsense and elsewhere you go. You might asked yourself why it is necessary to introduce yourself.

Introduction is an important part of communication skill and very critical in your marketing life and as a professional too! I passed several sites here online including Apsense itself, and one thing I find/look first is "Self introduction." I find some having written something about themselves, others nothing at all, moreover, others are everything. The later one appear good but mean spammed.
When you introduce yourself, it is not for my benefit or anyone else's but YOURS! It is not about your secret household things but about you as a professional marketer online who know what you are doing. A kind of person whom people will look up to for help and advises.

Self introduction is crucial, such that people believe and know you personally. Your image matters and any perception of people about you is in that introduction you wrote about yourself. It can either build you or destroy you completely.
Can you imagine an unknown guy come to you and start convincing you to join him in his business which he continue to claim that you can harvest more money from it. Going on to explain to you that his so called "business" is the Best of the Bests that you can never find elsewhere on the planet and more others reasons urging you to let your actions speaks louder than his words.
I don't know how you will react if this happens to you but I pray nevertheless not to happen to me and if it does, that moment, I will interrogate first/research first or run for my dear trusted and known business like Apsense (Not cowardice).
So that is exactly how it is when you just join a new program or business like Apsense and start promoting your thing without first telling us about yourself, and then your business later.

I guess you came across various business descriptions, portfolios and biographies of people which do something about this. Well, I am not a perfectionist but to say something about these points:

  • Write something about you, what you do and why it is important to know you.

  • Don't be too spammy, that is Jack-Of-All-Trades kind of guy promoting businesses A-Z but a few is necessary because we love multiple streams of income.

  • Include your hobby, interest or anything you do during your spare time.

  • A little background about you is good because it is human and you are sharing this with humans like you!

  • And more others.

Remember what you are writing is not a speech but a brief and precise you. You don't have to write an award winning boring autobiography but a professional introductory description. You might consider writing your first article/revpage here at Apsense to be about you. I highly recommend this to all.

Note to you: If you are a newbie or a seasoned marketer, go right now and check what you have written about yourself. If you haven't done anything or have written a 'Speech introduction' polish it now and invite your friends to see it.You can even invite me if you want.

Someone talks of selling yourself first if you want to be successful, then, this is your immediate step and it is crucial for you and anyone else who want to be successful.
Coming to Apsense now, introducing yourself is the first thing you have to do before proceeding on to tell everyone here that your business is out there and it is a must see/have. Put this in mind that no one will bother to see what you do before knowing who you are first!
Otherwise, thank you for reading this lengthy article. Stay bless and succeed with Apsense Business Marketers!

To your success,
Malok Mading.

It goes back to that first impression and you only get one chance to make it. I can't understand why people do not take the time to introduce themselves on a network, it's not that hard. It's one time I will do copy and paste. I have my APSense profile which I have tweaked to the point of where I want it. I simply copy and paste this profile to a new site when I join and Viola! my profile is filled in and it takes all of five seconds.

Well,@ ppcheryl, people have a tendency that they think writing about yourself is a great task that need an expert to do it for them but it is just as simple as you have said. Thanks for passing by and the tip 'copy and paste'

One thing I have noticed is that the 'Jack of all trades' almost always literally means "Master of nothing"

Swom and its new sister site, also the independant biz owner tool box place... Yes, and what's worse, they ask their members to "like" things to get points or to be more popular. Sigh...

Cheryl, it's not a bad thing to be a master of nothing, if you have built a relationship with the person who masters what you need at that moment. I for one am master of nothing, I am not a master of SEO, or Wordpress, databases, HTML, but I can manage for many of my needs and I ask friends for tips when a new need comes up. Of course, if you're still new at online marketing, it's more challenging, so we need to take the word out to the whole world about APSense and its features and experts :)

@pplchery63,A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.It is preferable to have a small but certain advantage than a mere potential of a greater one which one will end losing.
@A.E.being popular is in the deeds of a person.Communication with real people with respond form both sides is what is needed. It does not make sense becoming popular by liking things.I guess if they had atleast said "Get points by being active" then it would have been better.Gossiping? Lol

Swom and its sister site encourage members to be active, which means "say hi 300 times a day", use the word "gold" in every post to get bonus cash at the end of month by being an evangelist, so most members there can't be taken seriously.

@Phil,people who have knowledge about a particular subject or thing are masters of their world and I believe you have your blog site which portrays your ability to take the bull by its horns.Never compare yourslef with these masters of nothing.

I would never call myself a master of something unless I can back it up. It's easier to say that you're a master of something when it's sort of measurable, and I would even add there are different sorts or masters. Take WordPress. bj is what I would call a grand master of it. Neville Dinning is also a master, but his mastery doesn't include tweaking the database directly, I think. Nev is a a career teacher, not a professional programmer. nevertheless, Nev knows his way around WP, he's good at explaining it, he knows about plug-ins and about many things I don't for WP. So, in my opinon, he is a master of WP.

I got tired of their talks about "gold" that I lost interest and joined F5M MC.The way they do their thing is not a supplement to making money neither is it helpful to make a newbie grow nor is it satisfactory to anyone.I highly maintain greener pastures which can awake your dreams and show you real life results than forging.I am basic here but have something of tangible value that I have spend my time at Apsense. So no regrets for being focus with people here.

Philippe the master of nothing is exactly that a master of no thing. All of us have something we are good at the master of nothing is so busy hopping around he or she never learns anything. If someone has a list of 15 links to different opportunities, how much can they know about any one of them? If they don't know it, how will they ever be successful with it? They certainly cannot have enough knowledge to successfully mentor the people they are looking to recruit because they haven't got a clue themselves.

@Phil,remember what Ben Carson says of belief in one's self.He says the that the greatest obstacle to progress is lack of self-belief and I know no one want to be left behind or counted among the packs but unique in many ways.
The people you mentioned have something in them that makes you say their names and I have the same reasons for that too!

Cheryl, that is exactly what I am talking about here. Some profiles that I passed by in some sites where so long that I even lost grip of what I was looking about these persons.

I remember seeing a profile on APSense one time that was nothing more than 30+ links! I thought to myself There's no way he could help anyone who joined him because he wouldn't even be able to keep straight what program someone joined him in.

It is good to know the people you are dealing with. Introduce yourself.

In so many programs, who needs skills? All we need to know is how to recruit, until the program isn't on the radar and 10 new ones have come to take its place. The problem is, if any of these programs worked, why would there be new ones every week ?

btw, my interpretation of the expression "jack of all trades" is not taken from Malok's article at face value. I simply gave my opinion of what it means in general. Seeing your insistence, I started doubting my understanding of the expression, since my first language is French, so I checked on Google and found the wikipedia entry which says the same thing I do. I admit I got out of the box here.
