Types of cement

As per physical look and the chemical properties, the cement types will vary. Primary the content of cement is similar to every cement type but the level of composition matters. The ability of hydration and resist sulfate attack is the natural quality of cement. In the cement factory, the responsibilities of oxide and mineral composition primarily differs the cement types.

Type1 – This cement type is suitable to use for general classification purpose.  Characteristic of this cement is fairly high with the content of C3S to strengthen the development.

Type 2 – Level of C3S contains in this cement is lesser and it is classified as Moderate sulfate resistance. This cement type is best to apply on the surface which is exposed to soil.

Type 3 – it may contain slightly more C3S with high early strength. It can be used in rapid construction to ground more finely. Even it is used in cold weather concreting.

Type 4 – Contain of C3S in this cement is partial to the raw material of C3A. It reacts slows and suitable to heat at a low temperature of hydration.

Type 5 – High Sulfate resistance cement to seal the exposed surface with high sulfate ions.

White cement – the material of white cement is visible in white color and it is doesn’t contain any C4AF. Mostly it is used for decorative purpose and rarely it used as Type1 cement.
