Improving time-to-hire and reducing the cost of hiring for Global Technology Consulting Leader

The Global Technology Consulting Leader offers technological consultations and solutions to the leading firms. The company believed traditional recruitment practices were limiting the range of professionals they wanted to hire. They were getting a huge chunk of applications out of which very few were making it to the interview round. It meant wasting a lot of time and resources in finding the right employee. Global Technology Consulting Leader wanted rationalisation of the screening/sourcing time and automation of recruitment to improve time-to-hire and reduce the cost of hiring. The company wanted a more efficient and targeted approach that can help them select candidates based on merit and hire the most eligible.

The AI-driven intervention for Automating Blind Hiring

 

Understanding the criticality of the client’s requirement for automated, targeted, and bias-free hiring, Recruitment Smart offered its flagship product, Sniper AI, configured and customised to the client’s need. Professionals from Recruitment Smart had multiple one-on-one sessions with managers at the Global Technology Consulting firm to understand their requirements. As Sniper AI already has had partnerships with all leading Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), it integrated seamlessly with the client’s existing Systems, IBM Kenexa.

 

Sniper AI introduced the automated hiring approach to the client’s otherwise traditional recruitment process. Inputs taken from the client’s discussion were fed into the Sniper AI program. The robust search system of Sniper AI, using the most advanced, efficiently weighed, scored, and ranked unique attributes of the applicants. These attributes were ranked based on, cognition, technical skills, etc., without prejudice, thus promoting blind hiring. The proprietary machine learning (ML) technology of Sniper AI provided itself with informed feedback with every search. Hence, the platform could give more accurate results each time the client used it.

 

Using Sniper AI, managers at Diversified Financial Conglomerate could also evaluate work sample tests from multiple applicants, calibrating their judgment to see how one candidate performs compared to the other. It helped them gain critical insights into the problem-solving skills of candidates across varying roles. As a result, the platform pre-screened applicants without producing any false positives. The best candidates with the highest score were displayed at the top, letting the recruiters gather more information on every applicant, thereby evaluating candidates more effectively. Hence, only skillful applicants exhibiting the required expertise were hired, fulfilling the client’s requirement of niche recruitment.

 

Chatbot for external candidates in the pipeline

 

Recruitment Smart offered chatbot-enabled Digital Assistance to streamline pre-screening and interview rounds for selecting best-suited applicants. The conversational chatbot engaged with external candidates in the pipeline and guided them to upload the CV and list their attributes in the desired format. Candidates could chat with the AI-chatbot from any channel with questions and replies customised as per the business rule.

 

Results

 

Within a couple of months from when the recruitment intervention was put in place, Recruitment Smart optimised the marketing expenditure of the Global Technology Consulting Leader for hiring purposes. It did so by integrating the client’s existing ATS with Sniper AI and Chatbot-driven Digital Assistant, extending the System’s features, thus streamlining the external channels.

 

Following are the results after using Sniper AI with comparison from the previous year’s outcome:

·       • Pre-screening efficiency improved by 21.5%

·       • There were 8,000 fewer candidates to select in the Tech Interview after screening only the most eligible ones.

·       • The conversion ratio improved by about 2.5 times. 


As the Chatbot and Sniper AI conducted interviews and initial screening via completely automated steps, 
both interventions enabled the client to select candidates for certain roles according to merit without exhibiting any prejudice. Bias-free blind hiring by Sniper AI reduced gender biases at every step of the recruitment process, enhancing diversity at the workplace. Further, the intervention reduced the time-to-hire by 20%, saving countless working hours for the client and enabling it to timely reach out to the right candidate.

The chatbot-enabled Digital Assistance helped streamline the pre-screening. AI-driven Chatbot as Digital Assistant helped the client review candidates in real-time while not spending its resources or time and create an active pipeline of applicants (exhibiting those skills) to hire when needed.

After the implementation, the client saw a direct reduction in the cost of hiring by over 18%, owing largely to the rediscovery of the ATS, thus optimising reliance on external databases and sources. The screening/sourcing time was improved by over 30%.
