Submit your site to directories. The backlinks are great as there are hundreds of thousands lists on a certain site directories. However, the traffic from the directories will be less than a trickle, most equaling nothing. In terms of search engine rankings, you can get good rankings on Google if you choose appropriate keywords and get more traffic.

Use smart URLs on Wordpress. This should be carefully used if you use their messy URLs. But to some extent, it helps you get good search engine and won’t be considered as spam. Make sure switch to the URLs with name and date in the link, which will be considered as a redirect.

Don’t use link trains. Sometimes link trains is a good thing, while sometimes it not. If you join in on ViraTags or ViarLink, you should stop using!

Reread, check, edit and go through your post. Good content is important, and less errors is necessary. You should make your post looks tidy and avoid grammatical or spelling errors. If you keep posts disorder and some stupid errors, it makes readers hard to understand. In the long run, few readers will click to read, not mention to share it. No links, no traffic.
