Important Entrance Exams to Know After Class 12 in India

The education system in India is heavily dependent upon entrance examinations. After clearing Class 12 Board Exams, colleges want exceptional students who need to prepare for qualifying exams, well in advance.

Here is a brief overview of some important entrance exams that students should be aware of after Class 12 in India:

1. Medical Entrance Test:

There is a regular demand of doctors to many medical institutions across India. Some important medical entrance test includes:

AIIMS MBBS

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, established in 1952, is an institution of national importance. The competition is very high for securing admission in this medical institution. AIIMS MBBS medical entrance test is paper based, and a counseling session is held on merit basis.

NEET

NEET (UG Medical Exam) is an all India medical entrance exam. NEET UG is conducted by CBSE for students who want admission in MBBS/BDS/Ayush courses. Most students start practicing mock test papers at least a year before NEET UG paper due to the severity of this test.

2. Engineering:

Two most important entrance exams for gaining admission in engineering colleges in India, include JEE Main and JEE Advanced

JEE Main online test is for admission to engineering in NITs and IIITs. JEE Advanced is conducted by IITs and only those who qualify in the former are eligible to take this test. Getting a good rank in JEE Advanced mock test can help gain entry to IITs.

3. Law:

CLAT

Common Law Admission Test or CLAT is for post graduate law programs, also known as CLAT PG. Students can gain entry to LLM programmes in National Law Universities (NLUs) through CLAT test series.

DU LLB

Apart from CLAT test series, DU LLB is one of the most popular law entrance exams in India. It is conducted by University of Delhi for three-year LLB programmes . Nearly 2600 DU LLB seats are offered at Campus Law Centre of Delhi University, each year.

4. Commerce

Commerce students also have a number of entrance exams they can prepare for. Some of the top opportunities are:

CA CPT

CA CPT is an entry-level qualification test held twice a year- once in June and once in December for Chartered Accountancy course.

Mathematics, Economics, Mercantile Law and Accounts are the key subjects to prepare and practicemock test of, for clearing CA CPT.

DU BMS

Bachelor of Management Studies (DU BMS) is an under-graduate programme in management studies to teach management skills that relate to business organizations. By attempting DU BMS exam, students can assume management positions in organizations. This exam requires constant practice of mock test in order to clear in on attempt.
