IES ISS 2016 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Entry level examination for the coveted Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service in the month of May 2016 to select candidates for these services. The candidates will have to participate in the online examination.

IES ISS Eligibility Criteria 2016

The Eligibility Criteria of the exam of IES ISS 2016 is the set of terms and conditions that the candidates must fulfill before filling the application form and applying for the exam. Candidates can check the Eligibility Criteria of the upcoming exam as follows:

Eligibility Criteria in terms of Educational Qualification

  • For applying for the IES Exam, candidates must have the post graduate degree in Economics/Business Economics or in Applied Economics.
  • For applying for the ISS Exam 2016, the candidates must have the post graduate degree in Statistics/Applied Statistical or in Mathematical Statistics.

IES ISS Exam Pattern 2016

Here are the important points of IES ISS 2016 exam pattern:

1.The exam will be divided in two parts: 

Part 1: Written Exam, 
Part 2: Interview

1.The written exam will contain the maximum 100 marks with each section of 200 marks.

2.The Sections of the Exam of IES 2016 are: General English and General Studies, General Economics-I, General Economics-II, General Economics-III and Indian Economics.

3.The Sections of the exam for the ISS are: General English and General Studies, Statics-I, Statics-II, Statics-III and Statics-IV.

4.Each of this section will be of 3 hours and 200 marks in total.

IES ISS Cut Off 2016

The Cut off signifies the minimum cutoff marks which every candidate has to secure in order to crack the exam. The cutoff will be different for each paper and candidates will have to qualify the corresponding cutoff for each paper. The cutoff will be published by the Union Public Service Commission. Candidates failing to qualify any of the cutoff will be disqualified. The cutoff is usually decided based on certain factors viz. Total number of the vacancies and candidates, the level of difficulty of the exam, the performance of the examinees and etc.
