Is Printer Assistant installed on my computer?

When the complete printer software is installed on a Windows computer from the printer CD or the HP website, the HP Printer Assistant is installed automatically and should be available. Use one of the following methods to check and open the printer assistant. If you cannot find the printer wizard, download and install the full printer driver on your computer.

If the HP Solution Center opens, a printer is connected to the Solution Center instead of the Printer Assistant. HP Solution Center ships with many HP printers manufactured before 2010 and provides similar printer tools and management functionality.

How do I download Printer Assistant?

Download and install the complete printer software from the HP website.

Note: HP Printer Assistant is not available for Mac computers and the Mac printer driver installs HP Utility, which contains similar tools and features.

Turn on the printer.

If the printer is connected to a computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer. Installing the software requires that you connect the cable if necessary.

Go to HP Support Assistant - Software and Driver Downloads.

If the identification page for your product seems to have started, click on "Printer", enter the model number of your printer, then click on "Submit".

The program results page for your printer appears with the default operating system selected.

If you need to change the operating system, click Change, select your version, and then click Change.

Under the driver title, click Download.
