How you can maintain and keep a brand new home in top shape

by Kristen White Blogger
Moving into a new home is a very great feeling. Your home isn't old and aging, you have the latest and greatest products, your floors and carpets look flawless and your hard floors are polished. Even after a few weeks in your new home, everything can lose its luster.

If you do not want that to happen, here are some ways in which you can maintain your new home so that it looks great like the day after your cheap home builders in Melbourne completed it.

Creating a list of chores and maintenance for inside and outside the home is a simple way of keeping it in great condition. Doing all these chores are smaller steps that contribute towards keeping your home looking great all the time. Dedicate a room, for all of your cleaning supplies, whether it is your laundry room, an area of your basement, or another room you may not have occupied yet. You will always have what you need to clean and you will not have to make excuses to not clean for the reason that you cannot find the cleaning supplies.

Maintenance is more than just touching up areas of the home. Floors and carpets must be cleaned regularly with their respective cleaning products so they do not collect dust over time.

For outdoor chores, such as mowing the grass and trimming the hedges, dedicate space in the garage, in a barn, or in a shed for all of your outdoor equipment and tools. If possible, have a designated space for every tool and product you have, so you know where to find it every time you need it. Install shelves, hooks, and racks so you can not only save plenty of room, but also have easy access to all of them. Arrange the space so that it is easy to navigate around and easy to grab any tool you need from it.

To keep dirt, mud, and debris from entering your home, welcome mats are welcome additions for keeping any contaminants on the mat when people and pets step on it. Any debris on someone's shoes will cling to the surface. Keep another mat or strip of unused carpet that cheap home builders in Melbourne didn’t need around for every member of the family to put their shoes on. These mats will keep your carpets cleaner for a long time.

If you have pets then you should try them from ruining the furniture. Cats can scratch up furniture because it helps sharpen their claws so that they can run and cling to surfaces with better control. There are many methods to keep a cat from scratching furniture. You can buy a scratching post for them to scratch instead, double sided tape that they feel is unpleasant to scratch, or a specialty spray you can apply on furniture that repels your cat.

If you have dogs, be sure to have them fully house trained before allowing them into carpeted areas. This will prevent them from relieving themselves on your carpet. Be sure after your dog goes outside, to clean his or her paws before they go into your living room or bedroom.

If you have children, then it is possible for them to take a crayon or marker to a wall or floor. You can prevent this from happening as long as you keep crayons and markers in a supervised environment so that they can use them only when you are around to see what they are doing. Buy a drawing table so they have a designated place to draw so they know that it's the only place they are allowed to.
