How to Wear Your Sarong
by Denise Washington EntrepreneurOne of the easiest ways to wear a sarong is to tie it in a skirt this can be used either as a bathing suit cover up or for a cute skirt while at a party. The length of your skirt depends on how big of a sarong you have decided to purchase. To tie a skirt sarong hold the sarong in front of you diagonally and then fold the sarong in half. Once folded hold the sarong so its horizontal behind you, take a small amount in both hands, wrap around your waist and tie at your hip. And there you have it the sarong skirt is done in three easy steps. This is a classic way to wear a sarong especially as a cover-up if you hit up a diner or snack stand during your trip to the beach.
If you have a long sarong and don’t want a huge knot make the sarong double wrap around your body then tie the ends together. This keeps the short skirt look but gives added coverage over your thighs and hips. Later on after the sun has gone down and you’ve changed, don’t forget to being the sarong with you. Doing the same steps but tying the sarong around your shoulders, gives you a nice shawl in case you’re a little chilly enjoying a bonfire at the beach.
If you want full body coverage when you stop for a bite to eat, you can easily make a knotted dress with your full sarong. Hold the sarong lengthwise in front of you and wrap around your body. Gather the two ends above your one shoulder and make a knot. Do the same knot down at your hip. Now you are fully covered and looking cute for a quick bite with the cute lifeguard! If you want something that looks a little more covered or like a real dress buy 2 sarongs of the same material, one full and one half. Use the full sarong and make a full skirt at your hip. Then take the half sarong and wrap it around your upper torso. Grab the sarong at the back in the middle, just under your bust and tie a knot, if youre feeling too loose just tie another knot in the back as well. This looks great with either matching sarongs or sarongs that complement each other.
