How to use Tropical Style decor in your Bathroom Renovation Project

Greenery might have been the Pantone colour of 2017, but who would have thought this ‘greenery’ trend would turn into a warm wave of tropical decoration, bringing vibrancy to all areas of our homes in 2019?

Let’s be fair it’s in every glossy magazine at the moment, Palm tree wallpaper; retro jungle bedding; even vases decorated with banana leaf motifs. Ever since Sanderson launched a great retro style wallpaper a little while ago, designers and home owners alike are just loving the vibrant greenery and tropical vibe this style of décor introduces to a space.

Iconic wallpaper brand Cole and Son also reintroduced a bit of 1950’s Miami glamour with their palm jungle wallpaper. A colourful bold design guaranteed to add some drama to a scheme. Fortunately, now with the wide range of cushions and accessories available in this theme, it really is easy to introduce this vibe to most rooms in your home.

The living room, bedroom and even hallway all seem fairly obvious canvases for this decorative style, but how do you bring a playful tropical vibe into a bathroom? Well, until recently, I would have said with the use of a carefully selected collection of plain tiles and some statement wallpaper. However, having seen a number of bathrooms that have embraced this approach and it's really become a bathroom tile trend, it really can work! A word of caution however as wallpapers are not the perfect solution for a high moisture area of the home as you can imagine.
