How to Use Essential Oils

Mostly, natural essential oils are used for treating health conditions and best for aromatherapy. There’re more than hundreds of essential oils, and few popular ones are lavender, basil, frankincense, bergamot, peppermint, chamomile. But still, we don’t know how to use essential oils in a better way to get effective results. In this case, we should consult a medical practitioner or an aromatherapist for using essential oils. It would be better to see everything as cautions for each essential oil and application method. It’s advisable to use essential oils with carrier oils to reduce the high impact. Thereafter you can breathe in or rub diluted versions.

Now let’s discuss a few popular ways of using essential oils.

Steam:- 

We should add a few drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming water, which transforms essential oil into vapor form by evaporation. Now it’s time to inhale the content, for this you should place a towel over your head and breathe deeply to inhale the vapor. This is a very popular and powerful way of using essential oils; only 1-2 drops are enough for producing effective results. It would be better to close your eyes while using this way. This method helps in absorbing active compounds of essential oils into your lungs, bloodstream, throat, and brain.

Topically:- 

Another right way to use organic essential oil, where you can apply to the skin using various techniques. When we use this approach, then the macromolecules of essential oils pass through the skin before entering into the skin. Before using this method, you should dilute the essential oil with a carrier oil so that hardness of the same could be reduced up to some extent. If you go with proper usage, then the oil should be diluted at no greater concentration than 3-5%. Means 3 drops of essential oils are sufficient with one tablespoon. It’s the perfect, generally safe concentration. In case you use water as a carrier substance, then mix it well before using.
