How to use Brazilian virgin hair extensions and take care of them

There is a reason why women love their hair a lot than anything else. Healthy hair in women shaves some years off and allows them to look young and beautiful which gives them immense confidence. Hair extensions are one of the great ways to add length and volume immediately and making it look healthy and thick. Brazilian hair extensions are one of the most sought-after hair extensions after Malaysian and Indian hair extensions which are popular as well.

Many women, not only who suffer from hair loss but also women who want to improve their style and remain fashionable swear by having Brazilian hair extensions as part of their wardrobe essential accessory. But, then there is a dilemma whether they can apply and remove hair extensions by themselves or go for professional help in form of salons to get them done. So, let’s understand how to use Brazilian hair extensions and especially take care of them.

There are many types of Brazilian hair extensions, let’s take a look at how to install them and remove them and finally how to take care of them.

Clip-In hair extensions:

You can apply them by dividing your hair into different sections and clip them throughout your head. The important thing to note is that you need to clip them to the roots of your hair – starting from the right and then moving on to the left and middle part of the clip. Always add the next extension an inch higher to the earlier extension to cover the clip which will give a natural cover over previous extensions.

Removing them is very easy. Just like any other clip, put pressure on either side of the clip to open them. Make sure you are very gentle while removing the clips to ensure you do not pull out natural hair.

Weft hair extensions

This is a difficult hair extension to work with. This needs external help in the form of a stylist who can install them to your hair. An important aspect is not to put a needle through wefts or pierce them for that matter. One can easily sew-in the wefts by tying and looping them through a blanket stitch method. At Lene Hair, we would surely not recommend cutting the wefts, even if you have to, seal them by adding glue.

Maintaining them is an important aspect. You have to understand that when the hair is cut from the donor, it stops receiving essential nutrients that help in its nourishment and keeps it soft and tangle-free. So, it is equally important you treat your hair extensions in the manner you treat your natural hair extensions. At Lene Hair, we recommend using mild shampoos and conditioners that are sulfate-free to increase the durability of your Brazilian hair extensions.

Coloring and bleaching your hair extensions

It is very important to understand what type your hair extension is. Many choose Brazilian virgin human hair in its different forms. At Lene Hair, all our weaves are made out of 100% human virgin Remy hair. These Brazilian hair extensions can be colored and bleached according to your choice. But overdoing anything can damage your hair extensions by removing moisture both from your natural hair and hair extensions as it will make them dry.

But women with natural wave and straight hairstyles can opt for coloring and bleaching process as these hair weaves would not have undergone any form of chemical processing.

Styling with your Brazilian hair extensions

Make sure you always keep your hair extensions tangle free by brushing them and combing them gently to avoid excess tangling and building up tension between your natural hair and the extensions. It is a rule of thumb while using extensions that you comb bottom up and not the other way round. Comb small sections of your extension and with careful treatment of your extensions, they will last longer than you hoped for.

Also, allow your hair to naturally dry than using a hairdryer. Use towels to dry them by patting them gently. If you really need to use a hairdryer then set it at medium to minimize heat exposure.

Tricky case of sleeping with your hair extensions on

Women always face tricky situations at times to sleep with their hair extension on at night. Before going to bed at night make sure tie your hair extensions down by using silk or satin cap to cover them. One has to take precaution before going to bed by:

  • a) Braiding their hair into large loose braid at the back of their neck
  • b) Undoing them immediately after you wake up and spraying them with water
  • c) Combing them bottom up
  • d) Dry your hair naturally and then style them according to your choice

A Brazilian hair extension gives you the desired results and the looks you crave for. But you also need to take care of them properly to ensure longevity. Using or applying for Brazilian extensions on your own needs practice or some sort of external professional help in the form of salons. At Lene Hair, we have all they types of Brazilian hair extensions in different forms such as virgin Remy hair, curly hair, body wave type and loose wave type to suit your needs and at prices that are more affordable.
