Steps to Turn On Automatic Active Hours Through the Settings App

•    You have to open the Settings application.

•    For opening the Settings application, you need to click on the Windows, and I keys together on the system keyboard.

•    After the Settings application gets open, you need to choose the Update and Security option on the display.

•    Open the left-hand side menu list.

•    After that, press on the Windows Update.

•    Slide to the right-hand side panel.

•    Press on the Change Active Hours option.

•    Now a new window gets open on the desktop.

•    Turn the “Adjust active hours for this device based on activity” on.

•    After that, close the Settings application.

Steps to Configure Active Hours Through the Group Policy Editor

•    Go to the system keyboard.

•    Press on the Windows and R keys together.

•    Go to the Run pop-up menu.

•    Enter “gpedit.msc” in the search bar.

•    Click on the Enter button.

•    Open the hierarchical tree diagram given on the left-hand side and after that, go through the steps given below:

1.    Go to the Local Computer policy window.

2.    Click on the Computer Configuration option.

3.    Tap on the Administrative Templates button.

4.    Click on the Windows Components option.

5.    Press on the Windows Updates option.

•    You will get the “Turn off auto-restart for updates during activate hours” legal agreement on the right-hand side of the screen.

•    Ensure that the Enabled option is chosen on the window.

•    You need to customize the Start and End times below the Activate Hours option.

Steps to Use the Registry to Turn On the Active Hours

•    Open the toolbar on the system.

•    Press on the Search symbol.

•    Enter “regedit.exe” in the search bar.

•    Press on the OK button.

•    You need to permit the application to access the data of the system.

•    After that, tap on the Yes button.

•    After the Registry Editor gets open on the system, you need to launch the hierarchical tree diagram located on the left-hand side.

•    After that, go to the key which is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings.
