· The first step is to move to the edit menu and then select preferences.

· After that, select items and inventory from the left pane and also click on to company preferences tab.

· The next step is to mark or select the inventory and purchase orders are an active box.

· Now, click on the advanced inventory settings tab. Now the user will have to sync license data online so that the QuickBooks verify it if the tab is grayed out even though you already purchased the feature.

· Now, from the QuickBooks desktop click on the help tab and click on manage my license and then click on system license data online.

· The user is then required to see that advanced inventory settings is no longer grayed out.

· End the process by closing the QuickBooks program and then re-open it.
