We’re all witnessing how the increased tourism and travel is affecting the environment and making a huge impact on it, most of which is unfortunately negative. With humans visiting holiday destinations as tourists who are not mindful of how the’re affecting a foreign city or state to which they’re travelling, they don’t realise that the place, where they don’t even have to live, has to bear the brunt of it and face the negative environmental consequences. Being a traveller, and not a tourist, is being encouraged. It means being conscious and mindful about your surroundings and the impact you have on them. Here’s how you can make the most of your conscious travel experience.



Perform Yoga daily: One of the ways to stay mindful and keep your mind body refreshed is to perform yoga and meditation daily in the morning. It keeps your mind active and gets you thinking about you surroundings, the people around you, animals and the nature. It reconnects you with your own body and soul and you feel calm and composed. And when you’re mind is at peace, you can concentrate on other things such as protecting the environment.


Music And Dance: Conscious travel experiences included getting one with music. Listening to music has proven to be calming and is believed to sensitize your mind and body. As you listen to music from around the world, traditional and modern, you explore a different side of you as you find out more about yourself when you explore what music you like. Yogic dances are believed to refresh your body, muscles and relax your nerves. 


Explore the jungle: If you’re travelling to a place where the forest surrounds it, don’t miss the chance to explore the forest and beautiful flora and fauna it has to offer. Trek through the thick jungle to witness the different species of birds, the flowers and the majestic trees. You can also try journaling while your stroll through the jungle. You can try writing, poetry or sketching to unwind and relax and let out your emotions, feelings and thoughts. 


Interact: Having meaningful conversations with people can change your outlook on life and sometimes also open you to perspectives you never knew existed in the first place. This is an important part of your conscious travel experience. It makes you more empathetic and understanding as a human being and makes you sensitive enough to realise what’s happening around you. It’s important to build deep connections because that is what keeps us alive and going.
