If you have installed a fiberglass pool, maintaining the place is a big responsibility. You need to make sure that the water within the pool needs to be maintained properly. The edges of the pool, surface, and the walls also need proper care and maintenance. Here are some tips to follow when it comes to maintaining fiberglass pools:

First of all, you need to get a proper water testing kit. You can seek help from pool builders Brisbane or the company from where you have purchased the pool. There are different types of kits available for the pools. When it comes to fiberglass pools, there are specific types of water testing kits available. Using the kit, you can easily test the condition of the water in the pool at least once or twice in a week. In fact, you can use the kit to test the water on a regular basis, if you intend to. However, when shopping for the toolkit, try to avoid kits comprising of test strips. Although such kits seem to be extremely simple and easy to use, they are not much of reliable. They often fail to provide the most accurate reading. Basically, strips never show any chemical numbers. Rather, they only show colors. As a result, you will never get to have a proper idea regarding the best adjustment that water in the pool would be requiring for the part.

Next, it is about checking the chlorine level of the pool. Make sure that the chlorine level in the water of the pool is not higher than 4 ppm. It’s better to keep it in between 2 – 4 ppm. When the situation demands, get adjustments done to the chlorine level accordingly. Also, it is absolutely a necessity to ensure that the chlorine being used is totally safe to be used with swimming pools. Also, the presence of chlorine in the water will help in keeping the pool water clean and free from germs.

The third point to focus at is maintaining the pH level. You must keep the pH level in between 7.2 and 7.8. Remember, to keep this level maintained, ensure that the range of alkalinity of the water remains in between 80 to 120 ppm.

You also need to use a conditioner suitable for pools to ensure that the chlorine becomes effective in sanitizing the water while oxidizing any or every organic matter present in the water. The proper level of conditioner should be in the range of 30 to 50 ppm.

Finally, you must use a pool vacuum once in a week to remove the dirt and dust from the pool. You need to move the sweeper in a slow and steady manner since a hurried approach will cause the dirt to spread all over the place. Also, you need to scoop the debris out of the pool water so that the chemical levels in the pool are not affected. Following these tips will ensure the longevity of the pool while keeping it in the best of shape.
