by Jufcy Infographics Infographic Creator

Flood is one of the natural catastrophes which can pose serious threats to the life of the affected population in different ways. Not only floods sabotage the homes, but also spread fatal diseases which can be life threatening.

When escape isn't the ultimate solution, then the survival of the fittest needs to be the strategy.

Flood is one of those conditions when your temperament, survival techniques and confidence will be tested. When life and family are on stake, the best thing you can do is what you know how to do it.

Keeping that in mind, take a look at the necessary steps which should be taken during the Flood.

Things to Do During the Flood

1. Park your Car at the Safe Place

One shouldn't keep the car floating in the flood water or let it go with it. Make sure that you park your car at the highest area near your place which is reachable in order to evacuate the area.

2. Get the Batteries Stock

Keep the batteries and torches with you in this sort of conditions. The electricity supply is one of the initial victims of the floods, so be ready for the worst case scenario.

3. Grab Some Food

It's good to have some dry food and water bottles with you especially when you have children in the family.

4. Keep Phones Charges

This can't be done during the crises time. Make sure you have charged the phones early on when you think you have few hours to leave the town or move to a different place.

5. Secure the Pets

Pets are important. We love pets. Make a room for your dog or cats (or any other pet) in your car. If you have horses or other animals, try to move them way before the flood rings the bell.

6. Remove Electricity Devices

Remove all electronic devices like LCD, Computer, Refrigerators, Ovens and other equipment in order to be sure that there would be no short-circuit near you and your family.

7. Avoid Flood Water Contact

Don't enter into the flood water, unless your life is in danger. Flood water can be fatal and contaminate your nose, skin, ear and throat.

Safety Tips for Flood

In order to avoid damages during the flood, you have to make maximum arrangements during the construction of your house. Take a look at the safety tips which can pull off some solutions for you:

· Ceiling Leakage: Make sure your ceiling does not sag during the flood conditions. If you find some leakages to fix, then do it, even if you're leaving the house in few hours.

· Carpet and Furniture: Try to avoid the carpet and furniture to get soaked into the flood water if possible.

· Walls and Floors: Your house walls and floors will be affected by the flood. Do not try something which makes you off the house in the critical situation. Try to survive not repair things at that time.

· Repair Work and Insurance: Restoration and repair work should be started after the insurance team visit. Let your insurance company give you a go for repairing. They are likely to pay for damages they have seen on the spot.
