  1. Disable Chrome from Startup Programs
  • Go to Google Chrome.
  • Go to the menu which resembles three vertical dots located in the upper right-hand side of the display.
  • After that, Press on the Settings option.
  • Go to the end of the webpage.
  • Press on the Advanced option.
  • Go down till you will get the System column.
  • You will get the “Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed” option on the screen.
  • Slide the slider to enable it.
  • Start the computer.
  • Check whether Chrome is still opening on startup.
  • In case this issue is not solved, then follow any other method.
  • Disable Chrome from Startup Through Registry Editor
  • Keep pressing on the Windows and R keys together for opening the Run menu.
  • Enter “regedit” in the search box.
  • Click on the OK button for opening it.
  • Now, you need to allow it to create any change, so you need to click on the Yes button.
  • On the Registry Editor window, you can go to this folder manually.
  • Otherwise, start copying and pasting the given path:
  • Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  • In case you are not able to find any values, then right-click and remove them.
  • Now, exit the Registry Editor menu.
  • Start the computer again to save the changes you have made.
  • Open the Google Chrome Task Manager
  • Go to the Run window by clicking on the Windows and R keys together.
  • Type the Notepad through the Run window.
  • Enter and start pasting the following path into the Notepad:
  • Taskkill /IM chrome.exe /F
  • Now you need to start saving the file like the Windows batch document having the bat extension.
  • Exit the document window.
  • Go to the Run option, but you have to type shell: startup.
  • Press on the OK button.
  • It will open the Startup folder where you have to store the bat file.
  • Pull the file and start pasting in the startup window.
  • Now, Chrome will not open automatically on startup window.
  • Resetting the Google Chrome
  • Go to the Google Chrome browser,
  • Press on the menu list located in the upper right-hand side of the display.
  • Choose the Settings option.
  • Go to the end of the screen and search for the “Restore settings” option.
  • Verify the prompt by pressing on the Reset settings option.
