How to Start an E-Commerce Business in India?

by Varun Sharma E-Commerce services and logistic

With the passage of time, the comfort and ease provided by e-commerce websites have helped increase the consumer base.  Keeping this in mind, a lot of people start their e-commerce ventures, but fail to make it big due to some reasons. There are a lot of things that one must keep in mind while starting their business; finding a good delivery partner for your e-commerce venture is one of them. If anything from these basics goes wrong, there are chances that you might not get the best output from your business.

It’s important because the services that your delivery partner provides, gives your business the J-Curve.

  1. Make your plans and models straightforward and clear. Another important thing that one needs to keep in mind is that no plan or model is perfect in the first try. Hence, create something that will help you in the long run and keep inculcating possible alternatives or betterments in the plans. Two business models are followed ; one is the multi-vendor e-commerce, and the other is the single-vendor model. Both models have their own advantages, and you can choose one based on the needs  that you have for your business.
  2. Build the store from scratch when it comes to online marketing. Once you have decided on the name of your store, it is important that you build it accordingly online. Make sure that the store has a professional approach and is fault-free since establishing the website is the most crucial part to begin in the digital world.  The online platform is not just convenient for people, but even for the owner, it becomes easier to reach out to the masses in one go.
  3. After this, you need to register your company in India. This process will not take much time. Once you are done with the registration part, you will then have to set up a payment gateway for your business. Do not miss out on this step because it is going to be an important and integral part of your entire business. Also, keep tracking a delivery partner for your e-commerce. Setting up a payment gateway can take anywhere between 10-20 days, so work accordingly. There are two different types of payment gateways, amongst which one requires a fee for setup, and the other one doesn’t. To get the gateway, you need to provide a few documents, so keep a scanned copy of all of them ready before you start the process.
  4. The next step is also an important one because it involves marketing the product. In this era of technology, if your business is not online and properly marketed, you will eventually face a problem later on.

These are four important points to keep in mind to go around and have a successful business. If your basics are right, you would be able to deal with all the problems easily.
