How to Reset your Apple Watch

There may be many reasons to reset a device or an Apple Watch. Whether you’re selling your Watch, erasing personal data, troubleshooting to fix the issue, or just cleaning space. While resetting has some benefits, it also has some disadvantages, like you’ll lose your complete data including settings, information, apps, etc. An Apple Watch can be reset from the Watch itself as well as from the paired device (iPhone).

How to reset an Apple watch with Watch settings

1.    Wake up your Watch.

2.    Enter your passcode, if asked.

3.    Now, press the ‘Power’ button. The power button of the watch is just below to the “Digital Crown.”

4.    You’ll see the app list on your watch.

5.    Tap on ‘All Apps’ at the bottom.

6.    Look for the ‘Settings’ (Cog) icon.

7.    Tap on ‘Settings’ icon to open it.

8.    Go down to the middle of the settings list.

9.    And tap on ‘General.’

10.    Go down at the bottom of the general settings list.

11.    And tap on ‘Reset.’

12.    Tap on ‘Erase All contents & Settings’ option.

13.    Enter your passcode, if asked.

14.    Go down to the bottom and tap on red color ‘Erase All’ button.

Tapping on the red color text “Erase All” button will immediately start resetting process and erasing data of your watch. After a few minutes, it will finish. Once it will complete you’ll see the initial setup on your screen, now you set your Watch back as you want.

How to reset an Apple Watch with the paired device (iPhone)

You just need the Watch app on your paired device to reset your watch with it. If you don’t have the Watch app, then download and install it from the App Store. After downloading, set it up with your Apple Watch and follow below steps to reset the watch.

1.    Open the ‘Watch app.’

2.    Tap ‘My Watch’ tab.

3.    Go down to the middle and tap on ‘General.’

4.    Go down to the bottom of the general settings list.

5.    And tap on ‘Reset.’

6.    Tap on ‘Erase Watch contents & Settings’ option at the top.

7.    Tap on red color ‘Erase All Content & Settings’ button, on the prompt.

8.    Again tap ‘Erase All Content & Settings’, when appear.

9.    Enter your ‘Apple ID passcode.’

10.    And tap ‘Erase’ button.

Tapping on the “Erase” button will immediately starts the resetting process and erasing data of your watch. After a few minutes, it will finish. Once it will complete you’ll see the initial setup on your screen, now you can set your watch back as you want.
