by Mike Lorase pc security helps

START.SIVIEWER.COM is a browser hijacker that comes into computers by means of software marketing method named bundling. If your homepage is changed to START.SIVIEWER.COM, this means that the PC has been infected. You should take immediate actions to remove this web page. Though it appears as a search engine, it will not display any of correct search results to meet your needs. On the contrary, you will suffer from a bunch of searching ads. What will these ads bring for you?

For non-experience users, START.SIVIEWER.COM might be considered as a harmless web searching tool. Actually this website is defined as a browser hijacker that enters computers and modifies browser settings without users’ permission. You should be wary of this browser hijacker because you could get it downloaded unknowingly. Commonly, this kind of malicious website often comes along with suspicious freeware and fake browser extensions. START.SIVIEWER.COM will take the place of your homepage as well as search engine once inside. It will also make you suffer from endless redirection. As a result, you can’t visit other websites and perform other activities.

How to Remove START.SIVIEWER.COM Guide

Manually remove START.SIVIEWER.COM from computer step by step

1] You may open the Addons Manager of your browser and check all the installed add-ons, extensions and plugins. If you find anything suspicious, you may uninstall it.

2] If you find that its simply a case of your default search or home page having been hijacked, you may revert these settings back, via the browsers settings. But if it is more serious, like your links being redirected to other sites, being unable to open certain websites, etc, then maybe your Hosts file too could have been hijacked. You may need to reset your Hosts File.

3] Flushing your DNS Cache is also something we would like to recommend, if you find that your browser has been hijacked.

4] Check if any sites have already been added to your Trusted Sites Zone

5] You may also use the Reset browser settings tool of your web browser to reset all its settings to original defaults. This is a pretty powerful and useful tool to use, in case of browser hijacks. Read these links for more details:

Reset Internet Explorer

To reset Internet Explorer Settings to default, open IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > Click Reset > Close >OK. Once this is done restart Internet Explorer. But before you use the reset button, there are a few things you should know.

When you click on the Reset Internet Explorer button, the following will happen:

    Toolbars and add-ons get disabled

Web browser settings revert to default

Privacy & Security settings are changed back to their default values

Tab browser, pop-up settings and advanced options are reverted back to default values.

If you select the Delete personal settings, then additional settings like home page, search providers, accelerators, etc are all set to default. Moreover Cache, Cookies, Passwords, We form data, History, ActiveX filtering, Tracking Protection data, etc files are also deleted.

Reset Firefox

To reset Firefox settings, open Help > Troubleshooting Information or simply type about:support in the address bar and hit Enter.

On the right top side you will see the option to Rest Firefox to its default state. If you are having problems with your Firefox, you could consider using this button.

Once you click on the Reset Firefox button, all your Firefox settings, including search engine & home page, will be restored to default. Moreover, your extensions, sync settings, open tabs, tab groups, themes and toolbars will be removed. However, your Passwords, Form Data, Browsing history, Favorites or Bookmarks, Cookies and Plugins will not be removed. They will instead be moved to new profile.

Firefox will create a new profile folder for you while saving your most important data like Firefox settings and personal information.

Reset Chrome.

This option is not enabled by default in Chrome 29. (Update: It is enabled by default in Chrome 30) To enable it, type Chrome://flags in the address bar and hit Enter. Look for the Enable Reset Profile Settings flag and click on the Enable link.

Restart Chrome.

Now type chrome://settings and hit Enter. Scroll towards the end and click on Advanced settings. Toward the end you will see the Reset browser settings button. Click on the button to restore Chrome settings to default.

When you use this option, it will reset your profile to the post-fresh-install state.

Basically the following will be done:

Search Engine will be reset to default

Home page will be reset to default

New Tab Page will be reset to default

    Pinned tabs will be unpinned

Extensions, add-ons and themes will be disabled. The New Tab Page will be set to open on Chrome start.

Content settings will be reset. Cookies, cache and Site data will be deleted.

6] Once you have done this, you may want to run CCleaner and then full-scan your computer using your antivirus software.
