Breast cancer is often started off by the presence of an unusual lump in the breast or even the areas surrounding it. With time this lump starts growing bigger takes over more breast tissue. If left untreated they will grow very fast and take the form of a huge tumor. Almost every 1 out of 8 women suffer from breast cancer. Sadly, there are no surely proven ways to prevent this pandemic disease, but there are certain significant things that we can do to reduce the risk of breast cancer. Follow these following steps to reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Get Familiar With Your Family History:-

Cancer can be a genetic thing. If your biological parents or grandparents or some other blood-related relatives have had suffered from cancer then you will develop a much greater risk of breast cancer. Get acquainted with your family history and if there is a strong family history of cancer you may want to talk to a genetic counselor.

Watch Your Weight:-

Obesity acts as a stimulus for breast cancer. To lower the risk of breast cancer, maintaining a healthy weight, and having a healthy and nutritious diet throughout your life is essential. Studies have shown women with extreme obesity, after menopause, have developed a much greater risk of breast cancer.

Exercising:-

Exercising daily is one of the best habits we can develop. It will keep our body healthy and fit. Reducing the risk of breast cancer can also be ensured. People who exercise daily like cycling, swimming or dancing develops a chance to live longer than most of the people.

Control Your Tobacco and Alcohol Intake:-

According to a breast clinic in Bangalore, people who smoke tobacco or drink alcohol on a daily basis, generally have a greater risk of breast cancer. Limit your intakes because they not only increase the chance of having breast cancer but also damages a lot of vital organs in our body. Years of research have proven that women take hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may be more likely to develop a breast cancer.
