How to Recover Deleted Files from SD Card and Computer

by Deborah Belford Consultant

Sometimes, we delete a file from our SD cards by mistake. Other times, we delete these files only to realize that we need these files. Or, it could be a playful child deleting important files on a family computer. Important files could even be deleted by an employee or a co-worker.

These deleted files could cost you a considerable loss in revenue.  But, you need not worry. You can recover these files back. There are good software for SD Card recovery and hard drive recovery tools that can be used to recover deleted files. In this article, we’ll show you how you can recover these deleted files. You do not require any technical skill to recover deleted files from the SD Card or computer.

Before attempting to recover the deleted files, you need to stop using the SD card and the computer. The more you use the SD Card and the computer, the more difficult it will be to recover your deleted files.

First, you need to download a data recovery software like Recoverit. After downloading the software, install the software on another drive different from the one in which you are trying to recover the deleted files.

After installing the software, launch it. Select recovery mode. You will see different options in recovery mode. Select the deleted files recovery tab.

After selecting the deleted files recovery tab, select the hard drive where your files were deleted from. All the hard drives available on the computer will be listed. Select the hard drive that contains the deleted files. After selecting the hard drive, click start to scan the hard drive for deleted files.

The software will begin to scan your hard drives. After the scanning is done, you can see a list of files. If the files that you want to recover is not listed, you can opt for a more in-depth scan. The deeper scan will take longer to run and will show you more files than the normal scan. The mode is called “All-Around-Recovery” option.

After the deep scan is done, you will see a full list of all the files. You can then preview the deleted files.

You can then select the files that you want to recover. Click on the recover button. You will be asked to select where you want to copy the recovered files to. Select the path and start the recovery process.

And that is all!

Now you have your deleted files back.

The same process applies to both SD Card and computers.

If your computer does not have an SD Card reader, you may need to connect an external SD Card reader to your computer for you to recover deleted files on the SD Card.

For SD Cards that are corrupted or damaged, do not save the recovered data on the damaged SD Card.
