How to Pre-treat Oilseeds
by Anne Green Sales Manager Generally, processing of oilseed will follow several steps as below:The first step is to bake oilseed. Oilseed should be baked and cleaned with moisture content and impurities no more than 12% and 0.5% respectively. The second step is to clean oilseed. Dusts in oilseed will block oil outflow and short the life of squeezing bolt and bar and affect cake outlet. If we pay full attention to this, better results will be gained. The third step is to shell oilseed. Removing shells of oilseed before squeezing will contribute to output and oil yield. The fourth step is to crush oilseed. Though some oilseed can be squeezed directly, oil yield can be raised if oil crops are squeezed after being crushed and flaked. The last step is cooking. Frequently used method is to stir-fry oilseed after wetting them to ensure the moisture content and temperature as required.
