You've been thinking about wedding plans for months. This is going to be one of the most important days of your life. Everything is supposed to be perfect. You had a vision of what your wedding day should look like. The global pandemic may have put a wrench in the works. Don't give up. It's time to think outside the box as you move toward the day when two will become one.

Keep an Open Mind About Your Venue

When it's time to choose the setting for your wedding, the COVID-19 outbreak may keep you from doing a destination wedding. Many of the venues you've considered are intended for large gatherings. If you were thinking about the church where you grew up, your guest list may be trimmed down or have to stay home. You can still make the most of it. This has become the day and age of going virtual.

Enlist the expertise of your wedding photographer to capture your ceremony. If you don’t know how to find the right photographer, simply do a Google search such as, “wedding photographer in West Palm Beach” and you will be able to do your research. Whether you are in a chapel, on a beach, on the grounds of a grand estate, or in the ballroom of a classy hotel, your day can be recorded on film.

Use a combination of photographs and videos to relive this special day for years to come. You can also have your wedding aired live on the social media platform of your choice, such as Facebook or Zoom, to include everyone you love.

It's Time to Downsize

Your guest list is one of the most important components of your wedding day. In normal times, you might say the sky is the limit. You'll need to downsize during the pandemic. Every state is different when it comes to the limits placed on the number of people allowed to attend gatherings.

You can't predict what restrictions will be in place on the day you tie the knot. Think small. Consider only inviting immediate family members and your wedding party while the pandemic is underway.

You can always plan a large celebration that can include a large number of guests at a later date. Remember that getting married is your priority. Plan an outdoor reception to address dining restrictions. You can share this amazing day with those who matter most when you keep your numbers down and spread out tables for social distancing.

Enjoy an Intimate Honeymoon

Travel restrictions may not allow you to have a tropical escape or go overseas. However, you'll find there are many establishments that remain open during the pandemic. This is your opportunity to have a private getaway. If you can't dine in due to the pandemic, pack a romantic picnic. If there are no shows or movies, go out for a drive to see the sights. Dance under the moonlight on your balcony. Give yourself the gift of time alone with your new spouse.

Normal life and all your obligations will be waiting for you when you get back. Make this a moment that belongs to both of you and no one else.

Be Flexible

Being flexible is key in a time when there are so many unknowns due to the Coronavirus. You, your fiancé, and your guests need to understand that there are many factors that are beyond your control. Joining the one you love in matrimony is the only thing that really matters. All the rest is the icing on the cake.

You may choose to have a private ceremony in your own backyard with a family barbecue. Many will tell you that a simple ceremony will help you to truly enjoy every minute. You won't have to worry about a long list of details. You just need to show up.

You Only Have Right Now

They say yesterday is gone. Tomorrow isn't promised. You only have right now. The global pandemic has changed life as we know it. Don't let it steal your joy or rob you of your wedding plans. Many may choose to put off this milestone until the virus is no longer a threat. Why wait for things to get better? This is your window of opportunity. Don't let your wedding slip through your fingers. Embrace this moment in time and make it yours.
