by Uday Patel Seo Professional & Content Writer India
Kanha is a wildlife heaven located in Central India near Jabalpur City. It is a National Park and a tiger reserve and hence is under the aegis of Project Tiger program. This is a Central Government Program and is a tiger conservation initiated.

Kanha is known for tigers and swamp deer the most handsome and enchanting animal in the World.  In fact the tiger equals the deer in beauty and grace. Hence the park has two jewels and tourists flock in thousands to see them. But the buck does not stop here.

Living in this magical ecosystem are many wild animals, reptiles, insects and birds. The floral elements are extremely diverse with all form of vegetation growing abundantly it the park confines. The park is in a state of preservation in the core area or critical tiger habitat. The outer area is called the buffer and it is just that. It is meant to provide shelter to overflowing wild animals including the tiger.

There are more than 22 mammals, and two hundred and fifty avian species besides may butterflies and insects and about twenty reptiles species. The forests are mainly Sal (shorea robusta) besides mixed and bamboo forests. The canopy is dense and grows all over the park in the plains, grasslands and the table top mountains.

In order enjoy this magical kingdom one needs to go for safaris or excursions in the core area of the park. For this a permit is required hence when you make a plan to visit Kanha you need to book it on MPOnline website. At the website you will also be required to pay a fee for every safari which can be done then and there. Remember to book the core zone safaris only.

Booking a permit is the first step which followed by searching for accommodation and finally booking a hotel as per your preference. Remember to book a luxury accommodation since comfort after exhausting game ride is as important as sighting the tiger and other enchanting wildlife of the preserve.

Both these activities have to be done much in advance before you leave for India. The taxi could be booked through landing agents including inland flights and rail travel.

The only activity at Kanha is tiger safari at early morning at evening. There is no sightseeing nearby and no other holiday destination. That is why yo need to book safari permits in advance since there is a limit to number of jeeps that can enter the core zone of the reserve.

One needs to fly to Jabalpur or take an overnight train New Delhi. Then drive four hours to reach Kanha National Park buffer where hotels are situated.
