Changing the appearance of apps and making their looks more effective is also part of personalizing the display. You can modify the background of the display by changing the desktop images, themes. Changing the colour accent, taskbar, icons, options in settings can be changed by modifying the display options. How to Modify the Desktop Background on Windows 10

By setting up a new picture in the background, you can easily modify the Windows 10 desktop background.

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.
  3. Tap on the “Background” option.
  4. Slide down the Background option and choose the “Picture” icon. 
  5. Tap on the “Browse” icon for choosing a new wallpaper.
  6. Use “Choose fit” and choose the fit preference for the picture.

Organize a Desktop Slideshow

To present a collection of pictures, use slideshow and follow these steps.

  5. Tap on Browse to choose the folder along with the collection of pictures.
  6. Try “Change picture every” by slide-down menu and choose how often the selected pictures should change in rotation.

After you follow these steps, the images on the desktop background will automatically start to change on their specific time.

How to Customize the System Colour on Windows 10

Windows 10 enables you to modify the whole accent of the appearance that includes Title bar, Taskbar, Action, Start, Links in the apps and Settings.

Enable Dark or the Light mode

Windows 10 has two different personalized modes: Light mode and Dark mode. During the day time use Light mode, and in the night time, Dark mode is a good choice to use. Both of these modes change the background of the desktop and apps. Installed apps support both of these modes and change their colour according to the mode.

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.

  4. Tap on “Choose your colour” and slide-down to choose the “Light and Dark” mode.

You can also set this mode to change automatically on a specific time.

Organize the Custom Colour Mode

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.
  3. Tap on the “Colour” option.
  4. Tap on “Choose your colour” and slide-down to choose the “Custom” column.
  5. Select “Choose your default Windows mode” column to make sure taskbar, Start, Action Centre and other sections use the same mode.
  6. Select “Choose your default app mode” column to make sure apps use the same selected mode.

Control Transparency Effects

Some columns of Windows 10 like Action Centre, Start, taskbar and the apps that include the transparency effect in the colour page can easily disable or enable these following effects.

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.
  3. Tap on the “Colour” option.
  4. Toggle on or off “Transparency effects” option.

Choose Colour Accent

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.
  3. Tap on the “Colour” option.
  4. Choose one colour to work for your Windows 10.
  5. Below the “Choose your accent colour” option, look into “Automatically pick an accent colour from my background” column to the grand system for setting up the colour that is based on current wallpaper.

Create Custom Accent Colour

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.
  3. Tap on the “Colour” option.
  4. Tap on the “Custom colour” key.
  5. Make a custom colour by using the palette.
  6. Tap on the “More” icon for using HSV or RGB codes for creating a new type of colour.
  7. Tap on the “Done” button.

How to Customize the Lock Screen on Windows 10

You can easily personalize the lock screen that comes up always when you need Sign on the screen.

Set Custom Image on Lock Screen

The lock screen of Windows automatically uses the Windows spotlight to show up the different background images always. However, you can set any preferred image anytime.

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.
  3. Tap on the “Lock screen” option.
  4. Try the “Background” slide-down menu and choose the “Picture” section.
  5. Tap on the “Browse” icon.
  6. Choose any image that suits you.
  7. Tap on the “Choose picture” icon.

After following it, the lock screen will begin to show that specific image you selected.

Display Slide Show on Lock Screen

  1. Launch “Settings.”
  2. Tap on the “Personalization” option.
  3. Tap on the “Lock screen” option.
  4. Try the “Background” slide-down menu and choose the “Slideshow” section.
  5. Tap on the “Add a Folder” icon to find the folder that contains your preferred images.
  6. Choose Slideshow settings.
  7. Contain cameras photos folder from computer and OneDrive.
  8. Use those images that fit on screen.
  9. At the time of PC lock, show the lock screen images instead of a dark screen.
  10. Utilize “Turn off-screen after the slideshow has played for” slide-down section and choose “when turning off the monitor.” 

By following these sections and steps, you can customize the Window 10 display and background in several sections. There are many more menu options that you can choose and customize as per your need. You can make your desktop screen as you want by modifying the display section of your computer.
