How to Pair AirPods or AirPods Pro with Windows 10

 AirPods and AirPods Pro work effortlessly with iOS devices like iPhone and Mac. Yes, they can also be connected to Windows, but it is a bit difficult to operate AirPods with a PC.

As you all know that AirPods have an excellent quality when it comes to iOS devices, but pairing it with Windows can degrade its microphone quality.

How to pair AirPods or AirPods Pro with a Windows 10

Follow the steps below to connect AirPods or AirPods Pro with Windows 10:

The first and foremost step is to check if the AirPods are charged and working. Place them in its case and close the lid. On the other hand, your PC must support working with Bluetooth devices.
Go to the start button and open the ‘Settings’ window of your PC. Use ‘Window + I’ as a keyboard shortcut to open the settings menu.
Select the ‘Devices’ option in your settings window.
A new window will open, which consists of Bluetooth options. Turn the slider on for Bluetooth in case it’s off.
Click on the ‘Add Bluetooth or other device’ option.
A pop-up window will ask you about the device. Select ‘Bluetooth’ for the same.
Now, open the lid of the case in which you have your AirPods or AirPods Pro placed.
Press and hold the button on the back of the AirPods case for a few seconds, until a light starts flashing.
Check for the ‘Device’ menu on your PC. It’ll take a few seconds for your device to appear on the list before you can pair.
When the device name appears on the screen, tap and select.
You’ll know that your device is paired when you receive a notification saying ‘Your device is ready to go.’
From the next time onwards, the list of devices will automatically show your AirPods to connect.

Reconnecting and disconnecting your AirPods or AirPods Pro with Windows 10

In case your AirPods doesn’t work after you connect them to your PC, you may try connecting them manually as well. The steps to do the same are:

Go to the start button and open the ‘Settings’ window of your PC. Use ‘Window + I’ as a keyboard shortcut to open the settings menu.
Select the ‘Devices’ option in your settings window.
Locate the ‘Audio’ section on the screen and select the name of your device.
The next window will open with a ‘Connect’ button. Click on it to pair your PC and AirPods.
How to Unpair your AirPods or AirPods Pro with Windows 10

The steps to unpair your AirPods with Windows 10 are:

Go to the start button and open the ‘Settings’ window of your PC. Use ‘Window + I’ as a keyboard shortcut to open the settings menu.
Select the ‘Devices’ option in your settings window.
Locate the ‘Audio’ section on the screen and select the name of your device.
The next window will open with a ‘Remove device’ button. Click on it to unpair your AirPods.
