How to Manage Apps on Your iPad

by Carl Smith Software Developer

Apple users are always urging to get the latest apps to get along the flow with the latest trends. But as you install more and more apps, eventually, it makes it harder to find the desired app, or you have to search for it constantly, and there is no such application to organize or create folders.

In the initial stage iPad, did not have any such feature to create folders as it had a wider screen than the usual smartphone. But eventually, a need for such a feature was felt by the iPad users in order to create specific folders for specific tasks.

By seeing such need, Apple included a feature to create folders for iPad users, and it is quite simple to use it. Go through the steps below to create folders in your iPad.

  1. Long press on the targeted app which you want to add to a folder.
  2. When the app icon starts to shake, drop the selected app into the desired application icon you want in the same folder and release it on the top of the application.
  3. Now you can change the name of the newly created folder if you desire.

By this process, you can create various specific folders to make your navigation much more accessible and convenient, like you can create a particular folder for all your mail applications.

You can use the dock of your iPad to assemble your most used applications like dial pad, weather, music and others. This facilitates the user with easy accessibility and navigation to operate those apps as they are always fixed at the bottom of your home screen and can be navigated swiftly. If you want to dock any specific folder of your choice, go through the steps given below.

  1. Long press the desired application you wish to place on the dock.
  2. Drag the icon of the application when it starts to shake.
  3. Now release it on the dock, which will automatically adjust the app on the dock.

This feature is quite useful for accessing the regularly used applications and makes it convenient for the user to operate the device. But it also has its limitations as it can hold a limited number of applications at a time and if the number of applications is extended on the dock, it will automatically remove any other app to replace it with a new one. You can also opt for setting the apps alphabetically, which can be done in a similar manner by long pressing on the desired application and dragging it to the targeted location and then releasing it to its new folder or where you wish to place it. Hopefully, you will now be able to organize and manage your iPad in a much more effective and efficient manner.
