How To Make Delicious Weed Cookies?

by Info Puffland Consultant

One of my favourite treats, when I want to indulge in something sweet, are cookies. Chocolate chip cookies more specifically. Here is a thing about cookies, I love how crunchy they are on the outside and how melting they are on the inside. And chocolate. Don't get me started on chocolate. But what I enjoy even more are weed cookies. One of the first cannabis edibles I ever tried was weed cookies that a friend baked. New to cannabis at the time, I pursed my cannabis learning journey and went to buy weed online in Canada through notorious retailers such as Puffland, which has, by the way, the really great selection of cannabis edibles including CBD gummies and weed cookies. Once I knew the flavours and appropriate cannabis dosage I was comfortable with, I gave homemade weed cookies a try, and I don't regret it. Of course, I am still buying cannabis edibles online once in a while, but I really enjoy baking my own as well. I feel really proud of myself somehow. After many trials and some mistakes, I want to share with you my go-to recipe of weed cookies. They are by far the most delicious and easiest cannabis edibles to bake, and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do. A little warning though, these cannabis edibles are so tasty, you might want to bake them every week. Now to the recipe!

Of course, you could use any traditional cookie recipe you have to make weed cookies. Simply swap the fat (butter or oil) by cannabutter or cannabis oil and voila! You have a cannabis-infused cookie. But if you are looking for THE perfect cannabis chocolate cookie recipe, that has been made specifically with cannabis-infused butter or oil and that doesn’t taste like cannabis, this is it! Don’t look any further, grab a pen and a paper, here is the secret to perfect weed cookies!

Best Weed Cookies Recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Serving: 24 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Cup cannabis fat. I personally use Cannabutter
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Teaspoons Hot Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Whisk your cannabutter and both sugars together in a bowl, beat in eggs. Stir in the vanilla.
  • Dissolve baking soda in warm water and add it to the mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, sift flour and salt, stir into the butter mixture.
  • Add the chocolate chips to the bowl.
  • In a baking tray covered with parchment paper, place the weed cookie with large spoonfuls of dough on the tray, evenly spaced apart. You can also use an ice cream scoop. There should be about 24.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

Cannabutter, CBD oil or cannabis-infused coconut oil

You can’t make weed cookies, or any other cannabis edibles, with one key ingredient: Cannabis! Both cannabutter and cannabis-infused coconut oil can be used interchangeably, without changing the taste nor texture of these delicious cannabis edibles. They are both really easy to prepare if you have cannabis strains. All you will have to do is make sure to prepare your cannabis fat before diving into making your own cannabis-infused cookies as the extraction process involves cannabis decarboxylation and take approximately 4 hours. Once you have your cannabis oil or cannabutter ready, you can go ahead and prepare these delicious chocolate chip cookies.

For those of you who can’t wait to taste these cookies or don’t have cannabis flowers on hand to prepare your cannabutter or oil, don’t worry, we got you! It is totally possible to make this recipe using CBD oil or CBD concentrate.

If you are a regular cannabis user and want strong cookies, I recommend using a CBD concentrate which packs in 500mg in just 1ml volume. Because this is such a small amount, you can use this recipe as is and just add this to the mixture when you add the eggs.

For cookies that are not as strong, you can use a traditional CBD oil. Simply subtract the amount you are adding from the total fat content. For example, if you are adding 1 tablespoon of CBD oil, subtract 1 tablespoon of oil or butter from your total amount.

What you need to know before trying these cannabis edibles

Everyone won’t react the same way to the same cannabis edible. If you are sharing weed cookies with someone else, make sure they start with a small dosage. The dosage you have baked might be perfect for you, but it could be too strong for someone. The same logic applies if you try someone else cookies or cannabis edibles. Almost start slow. Don’t feel anything? Be patient, cannabis edibles are going through the digestive system, which means that you won’t feel anything until from 30 minutes to several hours. Cannabis edibles have a delayed onset time but they also have a prolonged duration of effects lasting 6-12 hours, so don’t reach out for that second weed cookie just yet.

Remember: start low and go slow!
