How to keep your cat acitvated.

by Peter Larsen Cunsultant
I have often watched my cat get bored to death sleeping a lot - no activity what so ever and want things to change for me and 'her'.
So I threw out the food bowl to make a change - and boy id did.
Now she is active 8 to 10 hours every day searching for food that I hide various places.
I have a glass vase 5 inches tall with not to big a hole for flowers and water.
I am now using it to put cat food pellets 'dry food' in it and first it was a thrill just to watch her tip over the vase and 'claw' the pellets out one by one to eat the 'catch'

But now we have gone to the advanced class. I tease her to be more active by putting either paper towels peaces down the vase or thin plastic carrying bags the noisy ones. I am catching my self laughing when I can hear her 'hunt'

Other things I have hidden food in is shoes I am not use often under pillows in the sofa - in the slightly open cabinet she has to work for the food like in real life and nature - under a lo couch where she has to sniff to find out where it is. behind cabinets in a noisy plastic bag. Sometimes she does not get something for a day even though she is calling for it - Cats do get hungry sometimes with out the ability to eat... It will not kill it to be without food for a day.

So If you want to have pet there is more active and fun to be with - throw out or hide the food bowl and play 'hide and seek' with it for the pleasure for both/all of you.
