How to keep the carpet beautiful

by JK Cleaning Services Best Ever CLean

There are essentially three factors that cause damage to the carpet: exposure to light, high humidity and the presence of aggressive chemical compounds due to air pollution.

Cleaning the carpet is therefore vital to preserve your investment because, by removing dust and dirt, you will bring it back to life. The dust not removed from the knots creates an abrasive action that accelerates wear.

To overcome this problem, we therefore recommend that you turn the carpet upside down frequently and beat it lightly, so as to remove the dust from the surface of the fleece. Better then brush the Carpet Cleaning in Coventry with a broom or a soft silky brush. We do not recommend the use of the carpet cleaner because the action of the brushes wears the fleece. It is also not recommended to slam them violently or hang them to strike them: in this case the basic structure could yield or damage the edges and fringes.

An excellent solution, if you live in a house with a garden, is to place them on dew or snow and hit them gently.

If the carpet gets stained, it is necessary to intervene promptly and remove the damage with the help of a spoon or absorbent paper; then a damp cloth must be passed several times to remove the stain and prevent it from being absorbed by the fleece. To prevent the halo from remaining, the part must be carefully dried with the help of clean, dry cloths at first. Then you can use a hairdryer or wipe the iron on the part, taking care to place a rag and avoid placing the hot iron on the fleece.

However, avoid the use of liquids or foam for carpets: they are generally alkaline chemicals that can exert a dehydrating and corrosive action on the fleece.

If you have to leave for some time, it is better to store the rolled up carpet, with the fleece inside, in a dry place, perhaps adding a cotton bag with mothballs (or any other mothproof product) to protect it from possible attacks. Never fold the carpet (the fold could be cut) but roll it up without tightening it too much. Put it in a cotton or hemp sack, never plastic: this material does not let air pass through.

Wash

Wool, cotton and silk, especially if colored, fear chemicals more than water: for this reason we recommend washing the carpet with water.

If you want to clean it, enhancing its colors, we recommend that you spray a solution consisting of 50% water and 50% white vinegar, then passing it with a soft cloth in the direction of the fleece. However, it should be emphasized that it is better to rely on equipped laboratories and avoid "home" washes as the colors may alter and, consequently, fade, especially natural ones.

Furthermore, washing the carpet does not only mean removing the dirt but above all restoring the fibers. Before washing, the specialized laboratories remove the dust, then test the consistency of the colors, dose the detergent according to the weight of the carpet and finally immerse it in water (which must not be absolutely limestone). The laboratories are also able to evaluate the degree of dryness of the wool and to add, if the carpet requires it, solutions of lanolin diluted with water which restores the ancient softness to the wool of the fleece.

An anti-moth treatment is then carried out which ensures protection for a long time; the carpet is then abundantly rinsed in running water. Finally, drying is an operation that should not be underestimated: the laboratories are equipped and able to perform perfect drying under jets of dehumidified hot air.
