AOL Away Settings

AOL mail users can even setup his AOL away settings i.e. adding up an email auto-responder message. Sometimes the users are indulged in urgent work and get no time to answer to the mails being sent to him. Thus the user could set an away message so that the sender gets the information about user inability to send the reply to the corresponding mails. In the below information, I am introducing easy step wise procedure for setting up the away messages.

  • Click Options >> Mail Settings, displayed in the upper right corner just below the username
  • Select General from the left panel.
  • In the Mail Away Settings section, click the drop down arrow, a list of some common away messages will be displayed select either of them or select custom.
  • If the users select “custom” then the user can type their own personal away message in the text box provided.
  • Select “Save Settings” at the bottom of the page.
  • The away message need to be removed when the user came back to handle his duties.

The users sometimes forget to sign out their account and thus could be misused by another user. Thus to save the user from this misuse of their account by another user, one can set AOL Mail automatically sign out. In the below information, are the steps to be followed for automatic sign out of AOL mail after a prolonged period of inactivity:

  • Click Options >> Mail Settings, displayed in the upper right corner just below the username
  • Select General from the left panel.
  • Select the option that best fits you from the drop down menu in the Auto Sign-off sections.
  • Select “Save Setting” at the bottom of the page, to save the changes made.
