How to get an ‘A’ in your assignments:

Getting ‘A’ matters in your assignments and most of the students do aspire for it. However it is not easy and diligent efforts are required. A significant effort is required to be put in your assignment to achieve an ‘A’. Following are some of the main points you should definitely consider if getting grade ‘A’ is your aim.

1.       Read and understand the main concepts of your module: Whatever assignment you are doing is based on your module content. Make sure you attend almost all classes of the pertaining module. Read the text book and case studies recommend by your tutor. Also read extensively recent journals and other main text books of the subject. An excellent theoretical base is a great help for preparing an excellent assignment and leading to getting an ‘A’.

2.       Understand the requirements of the assignment: Each assignment outlines what are the different requirements to meet the objectives of the assignment. Also most of the assignment outlines what are the requirements for an assignment to be graded ‘A’. Make sure you understand what is the exact requirements of the assignment, what is the word count, whether it is an essay or a report, what referencing style is to be followed. All these are very critical to start well in your assignment.

3.       Relate theory with practice: Good assignments not just merely describe the theory given in the text book but specifically mentions how that theory explains and does not explain a practical situation, where the theory is applicable and where it is not applicable, what framework can be applied in the given situation, what are arguments in favor and in against of some particular practice. Whatever you write should be of very critical in nature; supported with logical arguments; backed up with data and should include citations of standard text books and peer-reviewed articles as and when applicable.  This is very important for your assignment to be of critical and argumentative in nature.

4.       Free from Grammatical Errors: Your assignment shall be written using standard English requirements and should be free from usual grammatical errors. Grammatical errors make it difficult for an examiner to understand some of the arguments and points made in the assignment. Similarly, if the sentences are not framed in the right manner; it could be difficult for an examiner to give you an ‘A’.

5.       Referencing effectively: You should be very carefully in selecting kind of references for your assignment. Make sure all your references are authentic sources and are well recognized for their authenticity. You should ensure no reference is missed out and very diligently you follow the standard format for different type of references that you have used in your assignment. Also refer both in-text and provide detail of that reference in the end reference list or bibliography.

So, as you would have understood, a sincere effort is required to achieve an ‘A’ in your assignment. We are hopeful you would follow the above steps and fetch A’s in your assignments.
