How to Fix Your Laptop Touchpad Not Working

Did the touchpad of your laptop stop responding to your fingers? In case your laptop touchpad stops working, then you need to go through the instructions mentioned below to fix this issue.

Change Touchpad Settings on Windows PC

•    Click on the Windows button.

•    Enter touchpad on the text field.

•    Click on the Touchpad settings button located in results showing on the screen.

•     Ensure that the Touchpad switch should be enabled by going to the Touchpad screen.

•    In case the touchpad is disabled, then you need to change into enable position.

Change Mouse Settings on Windows PC

•    Click on the Windows button.

•    Enter Control Panel on the search box.

•    After that, click on the Enter button.

•    Press on the Hardware and Sound button.

•    Below the Devices and Printers option, press on the Mouse button.

•    Find the touchpad settings option by going to the Mouse Properties menu which is showing on the screen.

•    Make sure that you have checked the Enable touchpad option.

•    Press on the Apply button and after that, tap on the OK button.

•    Check the touchpad of your laptop.

In case you don’t get the touchpad option by going to the Mouse Properties menu, then go through the steps mentioned below:

•    Press on the Hardware option given in the Mouse Properties menu.

•    Find the HID-compliant mouse located in the Devices drop-down menu.

•    After finding it, press on the Properties option.

•    Go through the Device status provided in the HID-compliant mouse Properties menu.

•    You have to update the system drivers in case your laptop touchpad is not working correctly.

•    Press on the Change settings option.

•    Tap on the Driver button.

•    Press on the Update Driver option

•    Go through the Search automatically window.

Change Touchpad and Mouse Settings on Mac

•    Open the System Preferences given in the Apple menu located at the upper side of the display.

•    In case you are the users of MacBook Pro, then tap on the System Preferences symbol provided at the end of the display.

•    Press on the Trackpad symbol for opening the Trackpad settings option located in the System Preferences screen.

•    You need to change the Trackpad settings as per your wish.

•    Check the Trackpad to check whether it is working correctly on your laptop or not.
