In case the user tries to open a damaged company file, the QuickBooks error code 6150 is probable to occur.

Method to fix the error code 6150, -1006

Solution 1: Restoring the company file from backup

First of all, open QuickBooks and then click on the file, followed by selecting open or restore company.
The next step is to click on restore a backup copy, and along with that click on next.
Once done with that, the user needs to select local backup and hit next.
After that, the user needs to look for and select company file backup location from the drop-down menu.
Moving ahead, the user needs to backup with .qbb extension.
A new page with the name open or restore company will open up. And then, hit next.
The user is then required to save in drop-down menu, and then select the proffered location, in order to restore the backup file with a new filename in .qbw format.
Once done with that, the user needs to click on yes to replace the old filename.
And lastly, type yes in the appeared column to completely replace and delete the old file. And then hit ok.

Solution 2: Create a new QuickBooks desktop file from the beginning

The user needs to open QuickBooks desktop, and select create a new company, on the no company open page.
The next step is to fill in the information to create a new company and then hit on create company option.
