How to exfoliate: skin, body and face

by sudipan mandal SEO

Everyone proudly says that they do it, but do you actually even know the right way to exfoliate? Whether it's your manual scrub or a chemical exfoliant, getting to know the right one to use can start to get pretty confusing. But we have some insider tips which will help you get rid of dead skin and give you a glowing complexion in no time.

And if you don’t exfoliate on a regular basis, it’s time that you actually start. It will help you shed an immediate coat of dull skin, so you can enjoy bare-leg weather.

Exfoliate Your Face

For the face, let’s understand the fact that our skin is designed to be exfoliated daily. But with the application of different chemical exfoliators, we are only squishing the dead skin cells down. This in return slows down the natural process of shedding and cell turnover rate, which further leads to a dire accumulation of old/dead skin cells. Experts say that if we don’t exfoliate properly, our skin will not be able to reflect the light and thereby cause some dreaded dullness. It also means you can have blemishes from clogged pores. You can opt for an exfoliating cleanser which has salicylic acid - it has an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, which will keep your skin clear.

Exfoliate Your Body

There are a number of reasons why you would want to exfoliate your body, but the most common of them all is the appearance of red or white bumps on the skin, popularly known as ‘chicken skin’. Another useful means is dry body brushing, exfoliating will help to tackle it. Just scrub every day for 10-20 seconds and you will see the results. But when it comes down to buying a scrub for yourself, it would be better if you get something which has salicylic acid in it. Don’t get fazed if there is a bit of irritation in the first instance, it will get better with a few applications.

Exfoliate Your Feet

When it comes to exfoliating your feet, you need to follow a slightly different approach. Whether you’re dealing with cracked heels or callouses, there are many reasons which can lead to a panicky situation. But you can achieve baby soft feet but be careful to not use knives or anything designed to get rid of hardened skin. Instead, use an emery board. It is recommended that you do it on dry feet rather than wet. And make sure that you exfoliate your heels by gentle scrubbing and buffing. In case the situations get out of hand, it's always sound advice to visit a podiatrist.
