How to Download Flash Animation from Website

Found a funny Flash movie or video on the internet and want to get it in your device to watch whenever you want? Flash animations are usually embedded in the websites. Therefore, you need to save them to watch offline. There is a different way for each browser to save Flash Animations. You can use any of your favorite browsers, just locate the Flash file location in the source code of the web page and save it on your device. Once you download them, you can watch them anytime you want.


How to view page info and save Flash animation in Mozilla Firefox

Downloading Flash files from a website in Firefox is easy. If you are using Firefox browser, use these steps.

1.    Open your Firefox browser.

2.    Go the website or webpage from where you want to download the animation.

3.    Wait for the page and animation to load.

4.    Now, right click on the empty space (background) of the page. This will open an options menu for the page.

5.    Click on ‘View Page Info’ on the menu. A new page opens with all the information about the page.

6.    Click the ‘Film’ icon.

7.    Find the ‘.SWF file’ of the animation in the multimedia objects list. You can sort the list by object type by clicking on heading Type column.

8.    Select the ‘Flash file.’

9.    Click ‘Save As…’

10.    Type a name for the file.

11.    And, click ‘Save.’

Once you saved the animation in your device, you can watch it anytime you want.

To play Flash animation: Open the file in any browser that has Flash Player installed. You can simply drag and drop the flash file in the browser window to open it.

How to view page info and save Flash animation in Google Chrome

1.    Open your Chrome browser.

2.    Go the website or webpage from where you want to download the animation.

3.    Wait for the page and animation to load.

4.    Now, right click on the empty space (background) of the page.

5.    Click on ‘View Page Source’ in the menu. A new tab opens with page’s source code.

6.    Now, press ‘Ctrl + F’.

7.    Enter ‘.swf’ or ‘.flv’ in the find box to search flash animation file. This is an easiest way to find the flash files on the website.

8.    Now, copy the complete URL (except quotation marks) of the flash file.

9.    Open a new tab and type the base address (www.example.com) of the website you found the animation.

10.    After that, add (Ctrl + V) the flash file URL you copied from the source code page.

11.    Press ‘Enter’.

12.    When flash animation opens, open the Chrome menu.

13.    Hover mouse over ‘More Tools.’

14.    Select ‘Save page as.’

16.    Type a name for the file and save it.

Once you saved the animation in your device, you can watch it anytime you want. To play Flash animation: Open the file in any browser that has Flash Player installed or in ‘SWF Player.’ You can simply drag and drop the flash file in the browser window to open it.
