How To Choose The Right Eyeglass Frames?

by Kristen White Blogger
Eyeglasses have varying shapes, sizes, and edges. Likewise, people have different face shapes and contours. There are certain glass frames that will compliment your facial features, while others will just be a total miss.

There are many options for the best designer frames to choose from. Making this choice correctly depends on whether you understand what glass frame is best for your face shape, skin tone, eye color, and hair color.

Know more about it below:

Know the Shape of Your Face
Well, obviously, people have different face shapes and contour edges. Therefore, they will use different best designer frames that fit that shape. Face shapes are primarily grouped into seven categories. Oval face shapes have balanced features, hence are considered ideal. To enhance their natural balance, glass frames with geometric shapes like rectangles and squares are good. The walnut-shaped frames are preferred because they have a wider area around the eyes.

Heart shaped faces have a wider top and a narrow bottom. Choose frame shapes that are wider at the bottom to try and balance out the face. Eyeglasses which are rimless or semi-rimless can fit perfectly because they have a light and airy appearance. They should also be thin and light colored.

Square faces have almost the same proportions of their width and length, a broad forehead and a strong jaw. The eyeglasses should have the opposite shape of your face. Use oval shaped frames, which have a much longer width than length. This makes the angles appear softer. Diamond shaped faces have narrow jawline and forehead but pronounced cheekbones. Try cat-eye or rectangle eyeglasses, rimless frames or oval eyeglass frames to soften the cheekbones.

Other shapes are the round face, base-down triangle, and oblong face. Know what fits with each face and you can contact the best opticians in Nairobi to assist you.

Define Your Skin Tone
Whatever your skin color is, you can always match or contrast your eyeglass frames beautifully. Generally, skin color is categorized broadly into “warm” or “cool” colors.  You can choose the color of your frame depending on the effect you desire to achieve. When you harmonize your frames and skin tone, your face looks vibrant and healthy. Contrasting them may not be very attractive as you would want.

Some frame colors for warm colors are gold, camel, copper, peach or orange. Those for cool colors are jade, blue, silver, plum or magenta.

Your Hair Color
Just like the skin tone, the hair color is considered either warm or cool. The hue and tone of your hair also contribute to what your frame color is. Red hair can go well with shades of red, tortoiseshell or green. For black hair consider black variations, green, red or purple.

Your Eye Color Matters
Eye colors have many variations too and they must be considered when picking eyeglass frames. Even though it is a secondary feature to consider, it is crucial. Example, blue eyes can be complemented beautifully with blue and gray colors. Brown can be warm or cool, although it pairs much better with warmer tones like green.

With this in mind, you will be sure to spot the right designer frames that will accentuate your best features and make you even more attractive.
