How To Choose The Right Contact Lenses?

by Kristen White Blogger
You should always consult a doctor to choose the best contact lenses. Your choice may depend on the following factors that include your expectations, refractive error, and your willingness to care for the lenses.

Most of the people buy contact lenses just for the sake which is not advisable. The best contact lenses are only found through the prescription of a doctor. Never purchase a contact lens without seeking medical assistance because your eyes can be damaged further. The following are points to consider when obtaining a contact lens:

Duration of Wearing Contact Lenses
Some people may wear the best optical frames or contact lenses just on special occasions, every day, or on weekends. Soft contacts may be worn on either part-time or full-time. Rigid permeable contacts may be worn daily to keep the person comfortable.

Vision Sharpness
Rigid permeable contacts usually provide a sharper vision compared to the contact lenses. They are very important especially if you are prone to astigmatism. If you use soft contacts and they are not of help with your eyesight clarity, consider using rigid gas permeable contact lenses.

Proper Care of Your Contact Lenses
Several people usually get infections by wearing contact lenses that are not doctor recommended. Some of the problems include ulcers of the cone eye and fungal infections of the eye. Therefore, it is very important to get the solutions of your eye problems through a doctor. Disposable contacts have aided in the reduction of eye infections risks. However, daily care of the lens should be maintained and observed to strengthen the health of your eyes even during the wearing of the lenses.

Some people may consider disposable lenses to avoid disinfecting the lenses regularly as well as cleaning. The soft lenses that are meant for one day are often discarded after use. After they are discarded, a new pair is then put on the following day.

Overnight Wear
Some of the contact lenses are suitable for overnight wear as they allow passage of oxygen through them. These lenses are always approved by the FDA. It is not always safe for everyone to continuously wear contact lenses. Some people may be interested in the extended wear contacts but should first consult a doctor so that their eyes can be evaluated to check their safety.

Change of the Eye Color
You may achieve a new look from the color contacts. These soft lenses may enhance the color of your eye as well as change it completely. This may affect even your dark eyes. Costume contacts or theatrical contacts can rapidly change your eyes appearance. The special effect lenses may go to the extent of giving you a vampire appearance.

Theatrical lenses are obtainable without necessarily having corrective power if it is not required. All contact lenses should not be purchased without a licensed doctor’s prescription.

Bifocals
Bifocals are usually very important for the people of age 40 years and above. They help in eliminating or reducing the need for having reading glasses. Monovision is another type of lens where one lens is for giving a vision of good distance while the other is for near vision. It helps in promoting a natural-feeling, clear, and comfortable vision.
