by William Woods Blogger

When you run a business, keeping your property and offices secure is one of the most important tasks on your to-do list. If you’re checking out lock options for your office property, consider the merits of Yale mortise locks. The keyless feature of the lock makes it easy for you to open the door.

Keyless Benefits

You won’t need to bring along keys, worry about losing them, or about locking and double-checking if you or your staff have locked the doors. Also, you won’t need to cut keys for visitors, nor will you have any need for spare keys. As a digital door lock, you can pair this with alarms and have that extra feature improve your security even more against potential intruders and burglars.

If you’re wondering how to lock and unlock the doors, here are several methods you can try:

Use the Keypad

When you install a Yale mortise lock, you can use your Nest app to lock and unlock it. Just enter a passcode on the lock’s keypad then use the thumb turn once you step inside your home. The thumb turn locks and unlocks your door much in the same way that a traditional deadbolt lock does.

One Touch Locking

You can also use the One Touch Locking. When you set up the lock, the one touch locking engages by default. You only need to press Yale to lock your home when you step out. You can also touch your pam to the keypad and that will lead to the same result. If you encounter problems in setting this up, make sure you check the settings in the app. Is the One Touch Locking on? Check and if it isn't, tap to turn it on.

Voice Command

Do you have a Google Assistant enabled speaker? If you have a Google Home device, you can use your voice to lock the door. Check out the instructions for the specific product you have at home. Activating the lock by your voice can add another level of convenience and functionality that you can enjoy.

Privacy Mode

When you try to enter your passcode and you hear “Please try again at another time,” that could mean that the Privacy Mode is on. You can turn it off by using your Nest App. If you don’t want to use the Net app, though, you’ll need to reach out to someone who has access to the home to turn the Privacy Mode off. Once that’s done, you can use the Nest app or the lock’s keypad to open the door.

Shopping for Options

When you shop around for locks, choose a trusted distributor for hardware products. Look at the company’s history and track record. How is the quality of the products sold at the shop? What kind of buying process does it have? Is it easy or difficult to order items from the shop? How long will the delivery take? These questions will help you make the right buying decisions to improve your property’s security.
