Gmail is an email service with a high ranking in global usage. Since it is a product by Google, it is reliable, convenient, and secure. Gmail is an efficient email platform that allows users to carry out their activities effortlessly. These features include smart compose, email filtration, smart reply, high priority notification, scheduling emails, multiple reply-to email addresses, and more. Despite its commendable features, many users face issues with this service. For instance, your Gmail account stops working and logs you out of your account. When you log back in, it states incorrect credentials; this may be because you forgot your password. Such problems can cause unexpected and unnecessary problems for the users. Fortunately, you can resolve issues like Gmail not working, and password reset using the instructions mentioned in this blog.

STEPS TO RESET PASSWORD ON GMAIL

The first thought that comes with panic when you cannot log in is if you have been hacked. The good news is, Google is a leading technology company that considers security crucial, which is why it always sends notifications and warnings to its users whenever someone signs in on a new device or changes your password. These alerts make it less likely for hackers to stay anonymous, and it instantly educates the users about them.  So, you can simply do a Gmail password reset without worrying about it.

Open your browser, enter Gmail.com in the URL, and press Enter to launch the web page.

Click on the Forgot Password option placed below the login column

Enter your email address so Gmail can find your account

If possible, please enter your previous password - the one you remember setting up the latest

If you have your phone number configured with your Google account, Gmail will send a notification on this number; all you require doing is tapping Yes on the notification on your phone number to proceed with Forgot Gmail password reset

Now, if you have a recovery phone number with this account, Gmail will provide an option to send a text or call containing a security code

Enter this security code in its designated column

If you do not have access to your phone at the moment, you can choose the ‘I don’t have my phone’ option placed; alternatively, you can choose to receive the security code on your alternate email address

Enter your new password twice and click on Save to complete the Gmail password reset process

After you finish changing your password, you can regularly log into your account using the new password. It would be best to choose a password that you would more likely to remember, so you do not have to reset your password repeatedly. For more information, please visit our other blog.
