How do I Import contacts to Outlook?

Please note that the procedure is applicable on Office 365, Outlook 2016, Outlook 2010, and Outlook on the web for Office 365 Business, Outlook on the web for Exchange Server 2016, Outlook 2013 Office for business, and Outlook Web App for Office 365. 


Steps to import contacts to Outlook:

1. Launch Outlook and scroll at the top of your Outlook 2013 or 2016 ribbon, choose File


2. If you do not see the File option at the top left side, the Outlook you are using is not 2016 or 2013. To Know the version you are using, connect with Outlook tech support and update to the latest one


3. Once updated, follow the instruction below


4. To start the wizard, select Open & Export > Import/Export


5. Select Import from another program or file and continue with Next


6. Click on the ‘Comma Separated Values’ option


7. In the ‘Import a File’ field, search for the contacts file and the select to import


8. When prompted, you will have the following options, choose one according to your need:

  • Replace duplicates with items imported
  • Allow duplicates to be created 
  • Do not import duplicate items 

9. Continue by clicking Next once you made the choice of the options


10. In the Select, a destination folder field, go to the top and if select Contacts> Next (optional)


11. Outlook will start to import all the selected contacts and once done, hit the Finish button


After completing the process, you made successful import of the contacts to Outlook. To confirm the process, scroll the bottom of your Outlook profile and click on People icon. In case you do not see any of the selected contacts, get Outlook support to know the issue and its solution. If there is any other problem with the Outlook platform, call on Outlook support phone number and the get immediate assistance to understand a fix the problem.
