How do I create, access and modify memorized reports in QuickBooks payroll?

A QuickBooks payroll service is a subscription that needs to be activated in the QuickBooks desktop software in order to access the payroll features. You can choose from Basic, Enhanced or Assisted Payroll, depending upon the features you want to use.

QuickBooks Basic:

QuickBooks payroll service doesn’t work with QuickBooks Mac. To save your time, QuickBooks comes with 120+ standard reports. You can use these reports in default format or customize them as per your needs. Memorizing a report in QuickBooks allows you to save its present customization settings. You can simply find and display the report you want to memorize.

To create a default report in QuickBooks Payroll, you have to do the following:

Reports->Sales->Open Sales Order Report

However, this report doesn’t display your true open sheet balance.

How to create memorized report in QuickBooks Payroll?

The best part of QuickBooks Payroll is that you can customize the memorized report by using Modify Reports button available at the upper left corner of the report. Now, scroll down the list to find “Open Balance”. Add it to the report and save the customization to edit the report later without making these changes again. For this, click the memorize button available at the top of the report.

How to Access and Modify the memorized Reports in QuickBooks Payroll?

The created report can be easily accessed in the future to make changes. To find out the same, do the following:

Click Reports-> Memorized reports in the menu bar -> Choose the report from the column list

This will open the report instantly. Make the changes you want to do and save it again. Isn’t it easy!
