by Ankur S. Technical Writer

The prime factor that plays a pivotal role in presenting the hair loss problem is the gene, known as the Androgenic alopecia. The genetic factor influenced by the effect of hormones, Androgen (a male sex hormone) that presents the severe hair loss problem in men. The other factors that present the hair loss include the stress, autoimmune disorder, Telogen effluvium, and Trichotillomania. The responsible factor in causing the hair loss is evaluated during the primary consultation and a Surgeon recommend the procedure of hair transplantation if the problem occurs due to the genetic one.

The Androgen and Hair Loss

The hormone Androgen is a male sex hormone is sensitive to all the body parts, especially the scalp and causes the problem of hair loss or baldness with a different NW class. The responsible factor in causing the baldness is the DHT (Di-Hydro Testosterone) hormone that is sensitive to the scalp areas, such as top, front, crown, and the mid-crown and adversely affects the same by presenting the different grade of baldness. The grade of baldness is rated on the Norwood scale that is segmented into 7 categories depending on the extent of hair loss. The DHT hormone is a catalytic form of the Androgen hormone with the effect of 5-alpha-reductase that causes the hair roots to get miniaturized and the hair growth cycle perversely affected. However, the hormone and genetic trait of hair loss have a combined role in the hair loss that accelerates the case by the sensitivity of the same.

The genetic hair loss due to Androgen is presented in both men and women with the pattern hair loss known as the male pattern hair loss (MPHLS) and female pattern of hair loss (FPHLS) respectively.

The Imbalance of Thyroid Hormone

The imbalance of thyroid hormone presents a major cause of hair loss in terms of severe hair fall and thinning of hair in a female that needs a medical help to address them correctively. The medications are allowed to treat the thyroid influenced hair loss and in some major cases, the procedure of restoration too. Most of the females are willing to correct their thin crown area as well as the unattractive hairline and receives the hair transplant procedure. The hair transplant in Pune gave the ample of examples related to the female hair loss and their interest towards the hair restoration procedure.

The condition of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism both can cause the severe hair loss in the form of thinning and hair fall. The loss is diffused and affects the entire scalp rather than discrete areas.

Usually, the loss can be controlled by the application of thyroid medicines that can take several months or years.

So, it is better to consult your hair loss Doctor/Surgeon if your scalp perversely got affected by the severe hair loss problem. The transplantation of hair is always being a permanent solution to restore the original hairs.
